I was in contact with Skytex the other day concerning this device and was told that it is definitely Linux 2.6 they are using. The device also does not use DRM at the moment but there is a planned firmware update in the next couple of weeks that will add this feature.

I purchased this model for my grandaughter who wanted a color reader. This helped me get a suitable model for her (Amazon for $89.00). I wanted something without wireless - her parents and I agree kids in general and she do not need wireless. Otherwise it had everything she needed. I think it is great for kids.
