Getting back on topic........as best I can understand.......with the 3g version, you are always 'connected'. In the docs office, at the post office, at school, whereever, you are 'on'.....unless you choose not to be.

With the WiFi version.....you have to be at home, or somewhere there is a free 'hotspot' to connect to.

Like in a BN......

The internet in my home stopped working (what turned out to be the entire day!) when my wife needed it, we don't have cell phone data plans (or smartphones for that matter) so I handed her my kindle and she was able to send off the emails that needed to go out.

Wifi is no good with no internet. That's worth the extra $$ IMO.

No. Kindle 1. CDMA not GSM. Cell tower triangulation not GPS.
