The jumping editor seems to have slunk (slinked?) into the outer darkness for good. In 2.4 it would come back very often.

It's also now fast enough to edit in the full html format.

Worth waiting for.

Now all we need is a fullup PERL regex engine with multiline capability and a preview pane which will insantly show results and let the regex be built a little at a time. Shooting myself in the foot w/ a regex is not unusual.

I've done a full book in 3.0 and still can't get the regex to do anything consistently except "Cannot find".

If true, then it was entirely a Qt issue, as I suspected. Glad Nokia devs got around to it.

I think I figured out the jumping editor (v2.4).

The first time a file is shown in CV, and clicked, to set focus, I watched a CDATA... appear (in gold), that was not there when originally painted.

3.0RC2 is fast. I have been scrolling and inserting Chapter breaks. It is just about as fast as I can work.

Please Please. A hot key for the heading menu (or add to the main menu). I use a Macro programed keyboard buttons for repetitive sequences, mouse movement is not one of the settable options )

Possible Memory leak Rc2

Every time I set a heading (using the H# tool), The working set increases about 2M. (I saw a Working set as high as 144M)

Splitting the working File also causes an increase.
"Saving" gives back a small portion. Closing excess tabs, seems to have little effect.

The Sigil core itself doesn't use any extra memory when you set a heading: it merely invokes a javascript command on the Book View QtWebkit instance to transform the element into a heading. What QtWebkit does in the background to accomplish this, I couldn't say. It's could be tracking changes for the internal undo stack. Again, I don't know for sure.

Some extra memory could be taken up by JavaScriptCore, but its garbage collector will take care of any unused memory when it becomes unused.

Bottom line, don't worry about it. But I'll take a closer look just in case.

That was all I was asking.

It just seemed pretty high overhead. 57M when book first loaded to 2+ times. Things were starting to slow down, so I loaded process explorer and left it showing on one of my monitors while I did thing in Sigil.
I saw the CV editor jump on some pages, but not others. Every time it happened there appeared a line with "CDATA" in it. Not all pages visited in CV get this line

Does the new version of Qt involved in this fix the bug with embedded fonts not displaying in italic or bold?

Upon looking for myself, I see that it does not.

Also, in Ubuntu x64, the tab bar and the path when using Open are a single bar of grey rather than having each item in its own box.

I keep hitting them over the head with it, and they keep telling me "next version". I've fell for it so many times that at this point I feel like they're Lucy, and I'm Charlie Brown.

Both PostScript and TrueType define a file format and a glyph format. Hm, a lot of colors aren't working in the interface. Nothing is highlighted in the menus when I mouse over it, and the buttons don't respond to a mouseover, either. It all seems to work still, but it's hard to see what I'm doing. The style bar is also invisible except for the text.

Is this showing up for anybody else?

But that's what I'm using!

Maybe I've done something wrong in the uninstall and upgrade process?

Oh, well, 10.10 is out today. Once I get around to installing the OS over, whatever is wrong will probably be fixed.

But no, it's still not working even on a clean install of Maverick. Bug reported as Issue 620.
