I still think Sony should have included B&N's DRM in their latest ereaders. It would have been a positive selling point even if they didnt actively market it.

I think the question the review should be asking is, how much time am i spent loading books on the device?

For me I can deal with 10 minutes fiddling around with software and a usb cable to get 100 hours of reading time in return. Obviously the reviewer doesn't feel that way.

If I was writing a review I would devote around 90% of it to the actual reading experience and maybe 10% of it to how easily you can load books.
For me, it's a device for reading books as comfortably as possible and I think the aesthetics of it is everything. That's why this ringing endorsement falls a little flat:

'if you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing bare-bones reader you can certainly do worse. '

It seems a bare-bones reader wouldn't have all the highlighting and annotating capabilities as does the Sony.
