Last post on this topic was back in 2007! I have a Reader Pocket Edition and it works fine with my XP desktop. I also have a laptop that runs W2K and does not have the cojones to upgrade it to XP. I would like to install the new software on Win2K.

Has anyone tried this hack with the new Reader Library software 3.1?

I have abandoned the Sony Connect software in favour of Calibre software. (back then, in 2007 it was called libPRS500)
The problem with the good old Sony Reader PRS-500 was, you could not just drag and drop files onto the device. You HAD to use their ... aehm ... not very well working Sony Connect software.

With the newer models of Sony Readers you do not need to install anything. Just connect device and copy files. And if you have the old PRS-500 you can just use Calibre.

You only need to use Sony Library software if you want to buy books from Sony store.
