Nope, reference very very clear. Although I prefer to remember Viggo than Gollum somehow

At least my PRS-600 is consistent.
BTW, the best way to compare is to bring along your old liseuse for direct comparison
I wonder if the 650 using had some issues. I've not noticed any inconsistency with my 650 yet. I've only had it for four days, but have used it rather extensively during that time. I've found the touchscreen to be very responsive and never noticed it beng insensitive to my touch.

I really am loving the 650--and I have the lighted cover. The light is bright as Jaxx6166 points out. I keep mine on the low setting and have plenty of light. It could be a little dimmer with the bright setting being as light as the dim setting is now. But, I find it does a much better job of lighting the display than the lightwedge cover I have for my 505.

Interestin'... I'm glad that the 650's light cover is bright, but I put my 505 back in it's original slim cover ever since I got the 700, so I don't even use the wedge light anymore.

Seriously Sony, where's my 750 already?!

You can pre-order a black one here: http://www.abt.com/product/48678/Sony-PRS950BC.html A silver one is pictured, but the site clearly indicates it will be black and the product code is consistent with a black color.

I have never bought anything from them, but I did put in a pre-order. They only say ETA November 2010.

I really did not like the Lightwedge at all, ended up selling it after 2 weeks. I am using a funny little light (flat and foldable) I got at Thalia (a german bookstore who sells the sony readers too), which is doing an OK job (I clip it on the cover of the my case, which I then fold all the way back, if that makes sense...), but I still have to find the perfect solution...

I'll make some pics later, have to wake the kids up for school now.

I, for one, would welcome the concept of a 750. My 700 is my favorite eink reader, but I recognize its flaws.

I am not sure how Sony would introduce the side-lighting without introducing glare. But if they could do it, I would be all over it.

I wonder if it would have glare? The initial glare was because of the touch layer, same as the 600, with the new pearl screen, there's so much more contrast that an extra layer of matte glass should give the screen the clarity of the 505.

When I want to read in day or indoor light, I use my 505, but most of my reading is done at the end of the day, when I'm winding down and have more ambient lighting on. Of course, right now it's sitting on the charger because I've drained it already even thought I'm not finished reading. My 600 is only used on the StairMaster reading rack which is where I also keep a Mighty Bright Flex2 clipped. And my Kindle is only used when I can only find an ebook on Amazon.
