Best way to pick up cat hair is to wear latex gloves and gather it up. BTW researchers have found that cat hair is ubiquitous, even in places that don't house cats. So many cats shedding so many hairs...

I didn't know that was a problem. I have 4 cats and so far no hair got stuck on my Kindle, but good to know there's a thread with solutions for when that happens.

I use a small and very soft-haired artists paint brush to clean all my gadgets. It works well around keyboard keys and also the edge of the Kindle screen - just sweep with the brush and blow any dust / pet hairs away.

The best solution is to just get rid of the cats. Cats are mean, ungrateful beasts. Dogs are much nicer.

Wow, that's an ignorant statement. Besides, dog hair can cause the same issue.

First I'd recommend getting a cover/case for it.

Second I'd say a cheap microfiber cloth can do well. You can get pretty much every speck and these are able to be washed

Wow, it seems like most people flat missed the point of the OP's question. A post earlier (by a few weeks) either here on MR or on KindleBoards talked about her/his K3 separating at the bevel and screen. The K3 apparently has a glued down bevel to seal around the eInk screen. The glue doesn't hold well in some cases and appears to remain sticky around the edge of the bezel in some cases and the result is small objects like hair can get lodged between the bevel and the eInk screen. The OP was NOT talking about things sitting on top of the eInk screen but wedged in between it and the bevel. We have two cats and yes it is an occasional problem with cat hair (and other small airborne objects) getting wedged in the seam between the bevel and eInk. It is sometimes very difficult to get them to dislodge.

As far as cat and pet haters go, to each their own. But I personally find my cats to be much better company than most of the people I know, including most of my family.

Well, excuse US Jswinden, for "flat missing the point".

So glad you are here to straighten us out and keep us on track.

Excuse me, but if you ask a question on MR don't you want that question answered rather than every question but that one?

like I said above, my cats are better company than most people...sadly.

I had a dog who bit my husband and kid; now I have a lovely friendly cat; don't know if she even has claws; love her though I'm more of a dogs person.

I have a Amazoncover (though waiting for Oberon) and I always shut it immediately after reading; so far no hairs.
But the suggestion of using soft adhesive tape makes sense to me, if I would have a hair between screen and things.

I shouldn't have generalized. I have one cat who's pretty nice as long as I keep him fat and happy. If he feels that I haven't kept up with my responsibilities, he avoids me and goes with others who are more attentive. The other cat's just there and doesn't seem to care about anything.

My dog, on the other hand, loves me unconditionally.

It was your phrasing that I found condescending.

Perhaps if it had been

"I thing what the OP originally meant"

rather than "Wow, its seems like most people flat out missed the point"

might have gone down better.

Its all in how you come across.

No harm done, Nguirado. As I always say to my husband: a dog is a friend for life.point.; a cat can be a friend but tends to see the family as servants.

The one time a hair got stuck b/w the bezel and the screen, I tried using tweezers and the hair broke off. It's probably still in there but it's too short to notice.

Slightly OT: I open up all my PCs (there are 4 in the house) at least once a quarter and vacuum out all the built up dust and cat hair. Keyboards are also vacuumed. The mini tools are great!
