Yes, I would trust that Calibre got it right. My point was that the various file extensions don't necessarily give you good clues. Topaz files can be delivered as .azw .azw1 .prc or .tgz. If you're not sure, the quickest most reliable test is to open it in a text editor and verify the header.

Yes, I got your point and was supporting it by relating my experience that just because a file had a .azw suffix did not mean that it couldn't be a Topaz file.
