Just about time for a bowl of pop corn, a glass of Capt.Morgan Jamaica rum, and a movie. Tonight I'm in the mood for 'The African Queen!'

I've just seen a face
I can't forget the time or place
Where we just meet
She's just the girl for me
And want all the world to see
We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm

Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
And I'd have never been aware
But as it is I'll dream of her
Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di

Falling, yes I am falling
And she keeps calling
Me back again

I love being in love!

Good morning, everyone! First Saturday in 2015 and I'm gearing up for the Chiang Mai Fencing Club. Should be a nice relaxing afternoon. No kids today... Some sort of school event in Thailand, so it will be adults only.

Unbranded Keemun tea this morning. A really good way to start a Saturday!

ROFLU.

A day of running around and working in the kitchen, today. Not nearly as much fun as a day at Chiang Mai Fencing Club. Need muriatic acid for the pool, need a new crate of oranges (no juice this morning! ), and need to start two batches of sausage - Hot Italian, and Kielbasa.

Fortunately, I did get in a quick swim. I think I've finally found a solution for fogging goggles - Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Goodness knows I've tried everything else under the sun, but this one seems to actually work. And it's cheap and easily available, a definite plus.

A big mug of Lion Mountain Keemun as I tool around on my errands.

That may not be the droid she's looking for.

First mug of tea on a day that's a few degrees colder* than was forecast.

Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Least ye snicker, tide watching is very important work. It takes a LOT of watching to make sure it rolls away properly, and I feel privileged to be assigned this work!

Good morning, everyone. Happy sunny Sunday! 26°c outside my window at 8am, and the day is off to a good start with a mug of East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea, a bowl of rice, miso soup, and tsukemono.

Can anyone explain to me why the Princess had danish pastries stuck to the sides of her head? I almost felt foolish rescuing her.

As a diver, this is a problem we have been dealing with for years, and yes, Baby shampoo has been one almost effective remedy. So is saliva, but not as good though readily at hand... or mounth . On a dive bulletin board, one fellow was experimenting with various dog salivas and discovered that Dalmatian spit worked better than Labrador Retriever drool, but not as good as Pit Bull spit. But factoring in the difficulty level, he ruled that one out. But...
... there is a product called "Clarity DefogIT," a concentrated anti-fog solution that actually does work perfectly. (Use the drops and NOT the wipes! The wipes don't work nearly as well!) Just one drop per lens, rubbed in until dry, works perfectly. 2-3 drops per do NOT work very well. Less is more with this product.

Yes, I've had stuff that worked for masks. But goggles are fussier. I'll take a look at Clarity. But one that I found recently that did work, caused significant burning of the eyes. Needless to say, that one was not a success!

Have you ever seen the Hopi women with their "butterfly" hair? I guess because of the cultural context I never questioned it.

Re goggles and masks fogging; cat crap I shit you not! A bona fide item that skiers have used and loved for years!

'Cat Crap' is a great product, but it was off the market for many years. I see from looking at Amazon that it's being sold again. Perhaps a good time to stock up!

I bought some stuff at the Cherokee Indian Reservation in western North Carolina (near Maggie Valley) about 25 years ago that really worked well too. So well, in fact, that I bought several 'pill bottles' of the stuff. Still have one of them. It was a cleaner and defogger that some guy was hawking outside the res' gift shop. Just touch the paste, then put a fingerprint's worth on each side of the lens and rub. Another case where less is more. I used that for many years until I ordered a custom-lens dive mask, and that came with its own defogger that worked very well. Just about the time that stuff ran out I discovered Clarity DefogIT.

Well, I've put both in my cart. But stuff that works on ski goggles and dive masks still doesn't work on swim goggles, so we'll have to see. Right now, the baby shampoo is doing well enough to get a short swim in (15-20 minutes). And no burning eyes. Thanks for the suggestions.

Any Pit Bulls in your neighborhood? Dalmatians?
