Observation not a rant

I just thought I would share this with everyone.
I recently bought this antenna.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008KVUAGU/
for my bedroom tv.
My bedroom shares a common wall with the kitchen.
On one side of the wall is the refrigerator and stove. On the other side is the tv.
I had just sat the antenna behind the tv. At about 2:45 every day the channel I was watching would cut out. The other 5 channels worked fine. Yesterday I called the tv station. She didn't know my set up but suggested I move the antenna.
I moved to the kitchen side beside the refrigerator. (It is now on top of a decorative spice rack). No glitches today. Apparently the refrigerator was causing interference when it kicked in. Though why just the one channel is beyond me.
Oh and now I get more channels too.

Things that make you go hmmm....

We fired lazy coworker about a month ago now, too many no-shows and call ins after she was supposed to be at work to say she had a flat tire, was stuck in the snow, etc.

Today she came by and dropped off graduation announcements and party invites (one personally addressed to every former coworker) since she's graduating from college in a couple of weeks. Really? You want us to all come to your party?

Oh and I found out why I couldn't get NBC. Their tower is in Notrees. (Which by the way is pronounced No trees. Unless it comes from a computer then it is not ress). My antenna only goes 25 miles.

Is over the air TV still a thing where you live?

In the Netherlands, I think you can count all OTA channels on one hand nowadays.... even the analog cable network is becoming smaller and smaller. If you want more than 25-ish channels or so, you'd better have a digital settop box....

We have no more analog, all the stations are digital which means you either need a digital TV or a converter box for your analog TV.
As to channels PBS, ABC, NBC, and CBS have to send out OTA signals. Fox does too.
Here we also get about 6 retro channels.
At least 2 Spanish channels and at least one religious channel.

If you want more than that, you need either cable or satellite. Which you have to pay for.

Broadcast television stations are available on cable but still transmit (digitally) over the air. I don't know what would happen if an over-the-air station wanted to convert to cable access only, although I suppose it could be done.

A substantial number of Americans still use antennas -- such as me.

I use a Wineguard Sensar III antenna, very similar to the Sensar IV except the III uses AC household power and the IV uses 12 Volt mobile home power. I pick up Philadelphia stations, which are about as far away as an antenna can reach (Antennaweb puts them at about 52 miles). The only station we have trouble with is Channel 6 (6.1, 6.2, and 6.3) which is also the only station that stayed on the VHF band.

Quick answer, no the broadcast channels cannot go to cable access only. The FCC would pull their license faster than I typed this sentence.
They have several rules they have to follow.
Or at least the big 4 can't. They have to do OTA in case of an emergency or disaster.

I have two of those. Best $10 spent. We get all the locals which is about 20 channels or so.

Yes, that was my thought as well. I'm not even sure I'm sending a card. She was a lousy coworker. We got along fine but I really don't want to be her friend. I don't wish her any ill will, I just don't really want to be part of her life at all.

When I was in Grad School, there was a really obnoxious class mate who always wanted to copy other peoples' lecture notes, and annoyed the snot out of everyone. When she announced her engagement and upcoming bridal shower, a group of us sent the prospective groom a Sympathy Card.
