I gave up dealing with WordPress and switched to Tumblr. Free and I don't have to deal with all the flaws anymore.

It wasn't Wordpress, apparently I had an old version for PHP which borked my website. The helpdesk updated it for me and everything is working again.
Since I'm with my current host I have very little problems with Wordpress and if any arise I can always email them, their service desk is great. |

A little bit of wind and the transit system here is completely hosed. It took me 4+ hours to get to work this morning and I had a project due at noon. I have less than 45 minutes to complete it instead of 4 hours and there are revisions I still need made before it can go out which are out of my control. Ugh.

Plumbing problems.
I solved one persistent problem tonight -- although it may need to be revisited a few times. I have another problem that has defied me for a couple of weeks and may (eh, probably will) require professional attention. |

The remaining problem is a drain in the basement used by the washing machine, and is a bit of a unique situation. The main drain for the house is in the crawlspace, about 4 feet off the ground. Due to the way the sewer line serves our dead end street, we have the minimum drop that the building code allows.
The floor of the basement is even with the floor for the crawlspace so the laundry drain pipe opening is about 5.5 feet above the floor. It drops about 3 feet to the trap, comes back up to a point just above the drain level, makes a right angle to parallel the floor, goes about 6 inches, then makes another right angle to go through the wall and meet the main drain. It looks like a plumber's idea of a trombone. After 26 years the flow has slowed to the point that we're getting a little (but consistent) overflow. I suspect that lint has built up along the drain pipe's walls, narrowing the channel and restricting the flow. I can snake out the trap (and cleared some resistance there) but can't get past the first right angle. I've tried plunging it with an "accordion-style" plunger, a foaming approach with vinegar and a baking soda charge, and I've also tried compressed air. Next step is the plumber, I'm afraid. |

We had to rerun our sink drain pipe shortly after we moved in. We noticed it was just draining under the house. Don't know how long it had been doing that but when we picked up the drain pipe, it was only half there. We replaced with pvc. I lived in a trailer once that they just set the washing machine to just drain outside. |

Banks... What can one say. I received last week a large cheque written in GBP from.an insurance policy my parents had. ( Father had died years ago,. Mother last year). The cheque is drawn on Lloyd's Bank by Zurich Insurance. I went into a branch of TD Bank on Saturday to deposit it. After many minor challenge the teller was able to get it done, all the while saying the funds would be.on hold for 30 days. I grumbled a bit but nothing I could do. I was given a receipt and left the branch. Only then did I realize that the date showing on the receipt for removing the hold was May 24th, way more than 30 days.
Reaching out to the online support for TD elicits the statement that it's BUSINESS days! Would be nice if the teller would have explained that! Of course with the fact that branches are now open 7 days a week, computer systems process transactions 7 days a week, etc, one has to think that 30 days would be 4 weeks and 2 days, and not 6 weeks! Though yes she should have said business days. Oh and not all banks are open 7 days a week. Matter of fact I don't think any of the big financial institutions are open on Sundays, although they might have telephone banking available. |

Boss did talk to her and told me she well expected that the girl would put in her notice. She hasn't done so yet and acts like nothing is wrong.

I had the worst day. I got a notice my electric is due to be shut off Wednesday. I ran down to the county seat to apply for an energy assistance grant. I had to ride with my mom and sis and the whole way they argue and bickered at each. Mom never shut up. It was like she was on speed.
I get there apply only to find out they can't help me unless I get a letter stating he no longer works at Chick-Fil-A. So I text hubby that info and he heads up there only to have the owner refuse to give such a letter. He told hubby to leave or he'd call the police. ![]() Oh that payment plan Ameren offered fell through which is why I'm stuck with a $300 electric bill. Here's the kicker if we got welfare we could bypass those stupid letters they need. This truly utterly sucks!!! Sent from my XT1528 |
