Anna Hackett is fantastic and writes in several genres. Most of them are in KU.

Well, you asked about mysteries...so it's all your fault

Most of the mysteries I like in KU are the ones published by Amazon’s own publishing house, Thomas & Mercer. And some of those published by their Amazon Crossing brand, which translates foreign-language mysteries into English. But some other publishers have some series in KU too. So….

• Love, love, love Martin Jensen’s King’s Hounds series, but unfortunately not enough other folks must have loved it, so they stopped translating from the Danish with three titles. I liked it enough to email Jensen several years ago, who told me it was all up to Amazon as to whether more would be translated. And none have been. Sigh!
  
• EM Powell’s Stanton and Barling mysteries are pretty good. Again, just three of them out so far, and the last one about a year ago, so not clear if more are coming. I guess historical mysteries like these two series just aren’t that popular. I haven’t read her Fifth Knight series.
  
• Somehow Amazon got the rights to most, but not all, of Ed McBain’s 87th precinct series. Oodles of titles, and all of them KU, except for the few that escaped Amazon (the escapees are mostly published by Rosetta). One of the most classic police procedural series around. Amazon/KU also has his Matthew Hope series.
  
• TE Kinsey’s historical mysteries – both the Lady Hardcastle series and the Dizzy Heights series (reviews of a couple on my blog if you're interested...)
  
• The original Ian Fleming James Bond books. ‘Nuff said…
  
• Robert Bailey’s McMurtrie and Drake legal thrillers, which are a bit out of my usual thing, but which I really liked
  
• Gladys Mitchell’s classic Golden Age mysteries featuring Beatrice Lestrange Bradley – I’ve read a couple handfuls of these, but after a while, got a little bored with them…YMMV
  
• The Lee Ofsted (golf) and Alix London (art restorer) series by Aaron and Charlotte Elkins – especially the Alix London ones. Sadly only a couple of Aaron Elkins awesome Gideon Oliver series are in KU.

If you tell me a bit more about what kinds of mysteries, I can probably come up with more , although maybe not in this thread!!!

I haven't actually read Shannon Mayer yet but she's been on my radar for a couple series. She seems to rule the KU charts along with K.F. Breene so I'm optimistic about her. I'm happy to grab all the freebies while I can and figure out what I like best.
