That is a good additional feature. I like my Taps because they work so much better in areas where there are radios, TVs, or other noises. By "work so much better" I mean they don't respond to the TV etc. because I have them set to Tap mode. I have one Dot in a quiet area of the house and she is okay there, but put her in a room with a TV or radio and she will respond rather frequently to same.

I never thought about this, but now that you mention a Fire tablet it occurs to me that my iPhone 7 with Siri activated has never erroneously responded to sounds from the TV or radio. All my Alexa devices erroneously respond far too frequently unless I turn on the Tap mode or turn off the microphone. I think the iPhone only has one mic though, maybe two, and they are not designed to be used like an Echo from across the room. I know that my two Taps have less microphone capability so don't hear as well as Echos so they erroneously respond less often than Dots and Echos when they are set to voice activation.

The erroneous responses could be greatly minimized if Amazon would allow us to create our own wake word, but it doesn't look like they ever will...

I got the same response when I asked Alexa to add more bāss. I got bass (fish) added to my shopping list. My kittehs gave her two paws up though!

I went into the Alexa app today and found the equalizer. I now have max bass for my Dot and the difference is very noticeable. Thanks, Jeff

A while back I sat down and started enjoying a meal from Captain D's, which is similar to Long John Silvers, when the UPS guy knocked on the door. I sat down my plate, went to the door, got my delivery package, and turned around to see one of the fish filets in the middle of the floor being devoured by two kittehs. At least they left me one filet on the plate.

I told it to increase base (rhymes with haste) and I get a white light on top and it does in fact have more base. Billy Joel sounds much better.

Last night I said, "Alexa, sleep." That is the name of a routine I created to turn off the lights after a trip to the bathroom. Alexa replied, "Sheep, similar to goats but they cannot breed with each other." WTH!!!! I'm not sure why they programmed that response. Three attempts later she finally turned off the lights. AI my backside. It should be referred to as NI instead: non intelligentes, stupid.

Just make sure you don't count both of them at the same time while trying to go to sleep or you'll end up with a very x-rated dream
