Yes. Though, once the driver is installed it should be okay for future updates. I think every year a new euro bill is introduced, so far we have a new €5, €10 and €20. Next month the new €50 is introduced, so I can repeat today's exercise (I thought it was every two years, so I had another year).

So, what the frack is it, really, with those people who just GOTTA post, telling the whole world that feature X is working for them, as compared to YOU?

I have a software product that I use daily, multiple times per. In fact, Hades, it's a screen capture program. Right? Right. Today, I tried to capture a scrolling cap, and geeze, you'd have thought I was trying to land at Normandy. 3 times, it didn't work, at all. It gave me, instead, a regular screencap. Of what would be the first screen, so to speak. The fourth time, it glitched. Yes, it did the scrolling cap, but--and I've seen this before--it corrupts some of the capture. As I described it, if you imagine me laying out playing cards, as they are in Solitaire--so that you can see the entire card--when I screen capture that, with a scrolling cap (for websites and the like, right?), suddenly, out of the blue, SOME, not all, of the capture won't look like Solitaire, it will look instead like you're holding a poker hand, so that you only see parts of the cards, not all. It obscured a bunch of material, and it's not the first time I've seen it do that.

Finally, in some frustration, I decide to skim their support forum quickly, and see what's what. I don't see any other posts about this, so I post one. A few minutes later, another person does, saying, he's having the same issue.

And, sure 'nuff, not 20 minutes later, somebody has to take a beautiful, perfect screen capture, that's a bajillionty lines long, saying "well, it always works for me."

What, exactly, does that do? Other than the implicit "it's YOU"-ness of it, what does that achieve? Does that help us troubleshoot? No. Does it achieve a single thing? No. If the goal was to try to narrow down the problem, fine, just say "I'm running this on Yadda, and I never have any issues." THAT, by itself, might be valuable. Might. But the whole "oh, well, here's MY perfect ScrollingCap, and you oughtn't go 100 miles per hour, yadda..." man, that's just lame.

Maybe, because it's giving me the grumps, I'm missing the value of that post, here, but other than "oh, see, *I* can do it!," what's the bleeping point?

Well, I definitely feel your rant. But that having been said, I would suggest HyperSnap. (Hyperionics.com)

As a computer book writer, I took thousands, nay, tens of thousands, of screen captures. This little program was an absolute life saver, and the developer of it is very responsive. He even did a special build for me when I was trying to capture a Server Core screen. It is in active development, and has been since the Windows 3.x days, at least.

I really need to get a new mouse for my computer. For whatever reason it tends to click twice when I only click once. Not always, but enough to make it annoying, especially in Calibre (I keep opening books) and games.

A small rant about an irritating iPad feature. Screenshots. To take one, you need to press the home button and the off button simultaneously. You can see the problem with this setup. Half the time the home button doesn't readily engage, while the off button is always ready to do its thing. Sometimes I turn my iPad off three or four times before I successfully captive a screenshot. Sucks.

Yes. Tho my screenshot works more often than it doesn't. When it doesn't, it's most often my fault for not being simultaneous enough. Or at least -- I assume it's my fault. Perhaps it's for the reason you mentioned.

Have you ever had the Home button not work, in ordinary use? It won't exit a program. The 4th try (or so?) it turns on some assisted viewing or something. Then finally, it decides to work again. Sigh.

When my sister orders something that doesn't fit into her mailbox she has it delivered to our home. Which is fine, the store's open from Tuesday until Saturday. Tomorrow her window blinds will be delivered. However, it will be delivered between 7.30am and 10am (the store doesn't open until 10am). She suggested to my parents that I should get up early to open the door. However, she did this when I was not in the room (I overheard it when I was walking down the stairs) and they have forgotten to ask me when I asked about the delivery.

Am I a bitch to not get up an hour earlier than normal tomorrow? During the time her flat was being redecorated I went over there four times early in the morning to open the door for deliveries. Without being thanked for it, because "helping out is something you just do".

I'm a bit tired of being used. Also she was snarky about my plans to spend a lot of time reading during my vacation in May (she's joining me during the weekend). When I told her that she was welcome not to join me. She wanted to reply to that when she realized that I'm paying for that vacation and thus she has no right to complain (especially not when she'll be glued to her phone and laptop most of the time).

I would do whatever is normal for you in the morning. If you happen to hear the delivery, good. If not, well then you havedn't heard anything about it. (Can't actually say "you knew nothing" but you haven't heard anything!)

You are enabling her to be useless. It must stop.

Never, ever, ever trust the "upgrade has gone smoothly for several other stores" line again!!! That damn computer upgrade resulted in nothing but problems and a store that was not operational for over an hour after opening today. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I had a bad feeling last week when they called to tell me about it that it was not going to go well. It NEVER goes well for us.

Yes. It's most noticeable when opening the iPad. Until the upgrade that required you to use the home button to bring up the sign on screen I had no problem. A simple swipe and there it was. Now occasionally I'll have to hit the home button several times before the screen appears. And double-clicking is a major pain. It doesn't help that Apple recessed that button.
