Yesterday I installed a new pump in our pool, but still need an o-ring for one of the hose connections. The wife's out shopping at the moment, and hopefully she'll return with one so we can fire it off.

At the moment, the water in the pool is a lovely shade of green.

Well ... I'm recovering from a really fun (NOT!) afternoon. I came home from work and Stella walked into the living room with her right eye tightly closed. Bad sign in cats! So I swathed her in a towel, pried open her eyelids, and rinsed off her eye. Needless to say, she really enjoyed that. About as much as I did.
Then called vet & raced her over - fearing one of the other cats had smacked her in the face and got her eye!

All denied any violence of course.

Got to the vet - where Stella's favorite vet tech attempted to restrain her so that the vet could stain her cornea & look for scratches. My little darling sweet kitten transformed into a screaming, snarling, biting, scratching, flailing Tasmanian devil (yes I've seen real Tasmanian devils on YouTube - I know of what I speak). After catching Stella repeatedly as she attempted to vault over the tech's shoulder onto the top of the X-ray box, they finally surrendered and swathed her in a towel and wrestled the resulting "purrito" down onto the exam table.

The good news -- NO scratches ... which means ... NO EYE DROPS ...

Stella was so anxious to go home she voluntarily went back into her travel crate.

Upshot:
1. Stella is exhausted and sleeping on her favorite shelf.
2. I'm exhausted and contemplating joining her on the shelf.
3. I did pick up a nice finish slicker comb to use on her tummy hair - which is curly and quite thick.
4. My credit card is silently weeping at this latest hit.
5. The vet agreed with my plan - harness train the little tiger and let her work off her energy outside!
6. Sammy & Goldie cats are still denying any culpability in this injury.

I'm going to sleep very soundly tonight ... without any cats in the room.

I'm rethinking my "want" of a Maine Coon kitten with some of your posts, Pooh. I think I might be too old to keep up with one! Bless your heart (and Stella's), I hope both of you recover nicely.
(Maybe I'll go for a nice Ragdoll instead - they tend to live up to their names...LOL)

Well, with the enthusiastic endorsement of my vet, I'm going to try & harness/leash train my little devil cat. Thanks to KK, I've ordered a "kitty holster" (http://www.kittyholster.com/index.html) - and will try to work off some of that excess energy playing outside. I wanted to order the "patchwork quilt" model, but was outvoted and had to get the blue denim.
