Unfortunately, you can't install PRS+ using a Mac. You need a PC (or PC emulation software). I'm not sure of the system requirements, and I did have problems because the first PC I borrowed was running old software. But once I was able to borrow a PC with more recent software, it was a simple matter of downloading the proper PRS+ installer, unzipping the file, finding setup.exe, then connecting my reader to the PC and running setup.exe. Oh genius, how did I miss that. My husband has a PC running the new windows whatever! If you don't just hit 'run' on the file how do you find the set up exe. If he is going to do it he'll want chapter and verse! Thanks Mr Sqirrel.

Further to post above. Can I put my reader on my dig editions on my MacBook to download my books?

When you download the installer it arrives as a zip file (which is basically a compressed folder with files inside). You have to unzip/unpack/uncompress it to get the folder. Then inside the folder you will find a file called setup.exe.

Once you've located the setup.exe file, simply run it, and the installer pretty much walks you through it from there.

I'm pretty lost in a Windows environment, so if you need more info than that, I'm sure one of the nice Windows people here will chime in :-)

I'm not sure I understand your question, but PRS+ won't affect or interfere with Digital Editions.

hi, sorry i didn't read all 196 pages so perhaps you already answered my question.

i would like to enhance my prs350 mainly fpr the browse folder option. but on the specification i saw that there is no mark at the dictionary row; does it mean i loose my inbuilt dictionaries?

next one: can i save my original firmware to have an opportunity to go back if i need?

No mark means PRS+ isn't adding dictionary support. PRS+ doesn't eliminate any original features.

I don't know, but there is an uninstaller in the download area:

"Uninstaller" of PRS+ for 350, installs standard sony firmware 1.0.00.14080"

As a 4 year user of a fantastic 505, enhanced from the beginning with PRS Customizer and then PRS+, I don't really find a need to root my new T1. The only reason I might do it is because there is no PRS+ for it.

All the improvements I need and that I am going to miss are in PRS+. I don't care for using my T1 as a tablet, I don't want CoolReader, Angry Birds or the like. I would just be happiest if I could customize my T1 like I have my 505 and use it exclusively as what it is.

Have you abandoned the PRS+ adaptation for T1 definitively or are you still considering it? If you are, know there are some of us who would be mostly grateful.

Whatever you decide, thanks for all the work you have already done. It really took my 505 a step further.

I'd be happy if all you could provide was the fantastic customised fonts support I've come to rely on in previous Sony models. I'm perfectly capable of embedding fonts in every epub but it's nowhere near as convenient as PRS+.

Oh, and the Screenshot and the PDF 'greyed-out overlap' are very handy too

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, the T1 is just too different compared with the previous models. The T1 uses Android so (some) Android apps work on it. The earlier models did not use Android. As I understand it, none of the code from PRS+ would work on the T1. So if PRS+ was to be ported to the T1, it would have to be coded from scratch.

Hi,

as Ben explained, it wouldn't be "port to T1", it would be "write from scratch" thing. Current PRS+ developers are interested in it, but it's not yet clear what and how will be done. Besides, for starters, we have to buy T1s.

There is still plenty of work for older models, most notably, Dictionary & File manager.

They are sorted, kind of, by addon name. In the future we'll probably regroup them in a more logical way, so sorting won't be needed.
