Great pic Stitchy (can't view the video either, as it says it's private).

Rooibos in my cup to start the day, as always. We are having an "Indian Summer" here at the moment, with lots of sunshine and warm days well above the seasonal average. I may just take my laptop and "work" outside today .

I didn't really know how to upload a YouTube video, and thought 'private' only meant that it wouldn't show up in the general population. I discovered how to change the attributes so it should work now.
Try this link.
REPEAT:To give you an idea of what you are seeing, that's the electrical scoring machine on the floor behind the fencers. When a Red light goes on, the fencer on the left has scored a point. When the Green light goes on, the fencer on the right has scored. If a White light goes on, this means that although the point of the weapon touched the body, it didn't touch in a valid target area. The fellow on the right in the opening scene is our club's Fencing Master, an American from Alaska, fencing against one of our Thai fencers.

That worked! Thanks. I do not think I could fight like that, too much training to work angles and circle. Does look like fun though!

He's five foot-two, and he's six feet-four,
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He's all of thirty-one, and he's only seventeen,
Been a soldier for a thousand years.

And he's fighting for Canada,
He's fighting for France,
He's fighting for the USA,
And he's fighting for the Russians,
And he's fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we'll put an end to war this way.

Good morning, everyone. September 11th... 9/11. Just something to keep in mind. Up early today, and drinking Viang Joom On's "English Breakfast" tea. Have to ride over to the tea room soon and pick up some more. I don't want to run out of this tea. It's too good!

Then the fun starts... Getting Felicity into her carrier for a trip to the Vet's for her annual check-up and shots. This probably means I'll have to be extra careful when I wake up tomorrow morning. She'll have her revenge one way or another, either puking into my slippers or on my chair...

Fencing really is quite like interval training, which is why it's such a great way to get into shape quickly and stay that way. It's not a 'smooth, fluid motion' type of sport, but more like a the way a hummingbird moves, which is why we have a hummer as our club logo.

I just wish there was another sabre fencer in the club. Right now I'm the only member who knows how to fence all three weapons. There was another sabre fencer who left the year before I arrived, and I've got my fingers crossed for another joining up. I like to compete in sabre as well as foil and epee, but without someone to practice with, it's not worth the entrance fee.

It really does take a lot out of a person. I weighed my uniform before fencing, with it completely dry, then weighed it again afterwards... It was 2 kilo heavier... That's two liters of sweat (to say nothing of what evaporated while fighting) worked up in just a few hours. THAT is a high intensity workout!

Still working on my first mug of Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea this morning. A crazy morning, but hopefully things will settle down later. Assuming the upgrade to the Hyper-V server goes painlessly. (I can't BELIEVE I said that.)

Ack! You've just jinxed yourself!

As a reward for having my first colonoscopy (no, I will not share the photos), I splurged and ordered a bottle of Bunnahabhain Toiteach Islay Scotch Whiskey - which I shall sample this weekend, once my insides settle down and I can taste things normally (stress affects my palate - during the near fatal prep phase that completely altered my diet, Laphroaig tasted sweet! ). I've never tasted any of the Bunnahabhain varieties, and am looking forward to this tasty (yes, expensive) treat.

Oh - my test results were fine - no hidden nasties!

Yes, after I posted that I backed off and decided to do two backups (to different media). Then I'll do the upgrade today. Meanwhile, glad the procedure went well and the results were negative. (And I like your idea of how to reward yourself!)

Starting out the morning with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice.
