assuming you are using a beta-build in IM,
go to /Beta/
open user.config
and edit this line:

config.defaultLogLevel = "trace";

Path to the logfile is specified in the next line.

I have a number of documents in HTML format, and would like to be able to read them on my PRS-950 - is that possible with or without PRS+? I have tried using the file tag in a URL in the Reader's browser, but that is rejected - i.e. file://localhost/<some directory>/file.html

Is there any way to make that work?

I use this method a lot on Linux and Windows for local docs in HTML format - works great with Lynx (as a file browser) for docs that are mostly text.

I did the one with the universal flasher, and it flashed, but for some reason the reader now does not use the icons for Browse Folders, Games & Utilities, and everything else, that was added with PRS+ and does not come with the Reader.
This is a little odd, because my iconset contains all necessary icons for PRS+.
Do you have any idea how to fix this?

(I'm a little too uneducated for building my own PRS+ installer, so I'd prefer a more simple way to do this if possible)

Hi! I am thinking of reformatting my PRS-350 using the standard Settings > Format Internal Memory command, then re-loading all my books fresh, as a simple housecleaning measure.

I don't think formatting the internal memory affects the firmware, but I'm not sure.

If I do use Settings > Format Internal Memory, will I need to re-install PRS+? And if so, will I need to start from scratch running the setup.exe installer from a PC? Or can I simply copy over the PRSPInstaller folder from the update.zip?

Formatting IM does not affect firmware (you'll only lose "Fonts as in LRF" css file).
Regarding CSS files, filenames aren't sorted at the moment, so they are shown in whatever sequence file system serves them. (will be fixed)

EPUB is a format that is somewhat close to HTML, you should try converting to it.
There is no known way to open HTML files directly.

If reader is connected to USB during boot, PRS+ doesn't start. ("safe mode") If that's not the case, it means you've overwritten some XML files that contains the code that launches PRS+.

Please double-check which version of "kBookIcon.png" is in "\files.505.1.1.00.18040\opt\sony\ebook\applicatio n\resources\scripts" of Universal-Flasher (on the SD-card)
and that there are no other files you don't want to replace.

As a workaround for the filenames, I figured out if you delete all the CSS files from the reader, then copy all the CSS files back, they will re-sort themselves into alphabetical order (at least that's what happens on my PRS-350).

Also, I wanted to make a donation to you guys for this great software, but when I clicked on the PayPal "Donate" button on the project home page, the PayPal page came up in German. Will this work if I'm in the U.S.? I have never used PayPal internationally.

Yes it will, after logging in you should actually see your local version be it US or any other country.

Is there anyway in PRS+ to set a default font SIZE?
I usually convert the files to epub using Calibre, but sometimes I send an "unconverted" epub and end up with tiny fonts.

So can I create a default files somewhere to set all my epubs to my preferred font size?

Hi!

It SHOULD work if you prepare an appropriate CSS-file for PRS+ which overrides most of the embedded CSS-styles in the epub.
But think about that: what exactly is 'default font size'? Do you intend to have EVERY word the same size? Then man should call it 'forced font size' I think.

I think I will take the plunge and install PRS+ tonight. I'm happy my reader works but I would love Sodoku.
I have a 650 reader with firmware ver 1.0.00.08100
Do I just download the file and attach my reader to my computer?
I don't want to do anything with new fonts so will my reader work out what to do?
Can anyone advise me of issues with Mac? I have read of a few but they seem to be when fiddling with files and I assume I won't need to.
PRS+ for Dummies would be good......
Please tell me of any pitfalls to expect, I am as nervous as I sound!
