So, the whole area cancelled school today because of the impending snow and ice storm. So far it is almost noon and while it has snowed a little, very little, nothing is on the ground and nothing is even falling right now.
My kids are home from school why? |

I thought YouTube doesn't have a 10 minute limit on video's anymore for a long time; at least not for regular content creators.
Then why is there such a trend going, with people trying to speak so fracking fast? If they go any faster, some reviewers/tutorial creators can rival a **** auctioneer. I actually think some are speeding up their video's and keeping the audio at the same pitch, or something. I've heard that there was some sort of 'idea' in the USA, some time ago, to speed up all TV programs by 10 percent (thus cutting a 42 minute show down to around 38) to be able to fit more commercials in there without exceeding one hour. Has that ever taken off? |

So, my brother has "irregular pneumonia" and is STILL out there on his bike. Also, a friend of my mom's had a nasry accident (ribs and ankle broken, fave battered). 2016 is terrible.

I read something about...8%? They gain a few minutes of advert time, for each show? I think that's right. Not certain, but... Hitch |

My sister wants to move into her apartment during Christmas. Normally I wouldn't mind helping her move, but from Tuesday (the 13th) until the 24th I won't have a day off work and I'll probably have to go downstairs a couple of nights to finish processing shipments. After Christmas there are another two busy weeks, with a day off on the 1st.
It might sound self centred, but I'm not too happy about spending Christmas doing heavy lifting. The plan is to carry the first half of her stuff downstairs on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day we get up nice and early, I have to cycle over to her place, since there will be no room for me in the car. There I'm on stair duty; my father will move the stuff from the car to the lobby, I carry it up two flights of stairs to my sister's floor, where she will put the boxes in the right room. I don't know how I have to get her bed, bookshelves and wardrobes up on my own, though. After we've finished we go home, have Christmas dinner and afterwards carry down the rest of her stuff. On Boxing Day we again get started early and repeat what we did the day before. It probably sounds self centred, but I'm not looking forward to it. And I'm very glad I decided to book a vacation in January, I had almost chosen to go in November, but by the 16th I'll need my week off by myself. |

I would refuse to lift an ounce unless she is lifting at the other end of the object, with you. If she can't, then she should hire a couple of burly friends (or actual movers).

There are folks out there called MOVERS. They are paid for this crap. Sure, everybody has budgetary limits, I get that. But if you can't (or she can't) afford professional movers, put up a thing at the local college, or wherever, for burly guys (and gals, if they have the muscles) to move the damn stuff. I think it's absolutely ridiculous for ANY part of your family to think that sounds like a good idea. I don't care if you're Dwight whatsits, the Rock guy. Those of us who work ungodly hours deserve what few days off we get. If my family came up with something cracked like that, I'd book myself in to the nearest 5-star hotel, buy some nice movies, and get room service. Daft bastards. Don't get sucked in!!! There's nothing self-centered about it. It's more like...self-preservation. You simply need to find your own damn lifeboat. Hitch |

Moving into an apartment during Christmas/New Year time and then expecting you'll be able to find people wanting to help you is stupid.
For many, especially in bigger families, Christmas time is busy enough without moving into a different house. |

And you shouldn't be expected to move stuff all alone, even if it weren't a holiday. I'm fuming. I don't see how you aren't. |
