![]() And the flowers are sweetly bloomin' And the wild mountain thyme Grows around the bloomin' heather Will ye go lassie go? And we'll all go together To pull wild mountain thyme All around the bloomin' heather Will ye go lassie go? I will build my love a bower By yon cool crystal fountain And round it I will pile All the wild flowers o' the mountain Will ye go lassie go? ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKfgKQIzc4s ) Good morning, everyone! Middle of summer... the fragrance of the jungle flowers in every breeze. The don't call Chiang Mai 'The Rose of the North' for no reason. A big pot of orchids sells for about $5 here compared with $150 in Japan, and there are giant flower markets everywhere you turn. But I still prefer my tea without any flower infusion, so this morning it's Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea in my cup. Strong enough to wake me up and keep me going! Going to on of the flower markets to do some photography with a friend who wants to learn some tricks to getting flowers to stand still long enough for a sharp picture when outdoors! ![]() Stitchawl |

Blue Spring Oolong. I am flaunting the rules and using my programmable tea kettle in the office again. It is on for a few minutes at a time and will be unplugged when not in use so as to prevent a fire from starting.

Congratulations on the kettle solution. I just brought my old kettle in to the office for the same reason - I need to have more control over the quality and temperature of the water I use to make tea here. Even though I'm only physically in the office 4 days a month or so, I still need good tea! And this morning, it's Lion Mountain Keemun.

Okay ....... I'm guessing that's something different than "pasties" (yes, I note that yours doesn't have an 'e').

![]() Countryside was cold and still There were three crosses on the hill Each one wore a burning hood To hide its rotten core of wood And I say father, father I hear an iron sound Hoof beats on the frozen ground And downhill the riders came Lord it was a cryin' shame To see the blood upon their whips To hear the snarlin' from their lips And I cried mother, mother I feel a stabbing pain Blood runs down like summers rain And each one wore a mask of white To hide his cruel face from sight And each one sucked a hungry breath Out of the empty lungs of death And I say sister, sister, I need you to take my hand It's always lonely when it's time to stand He who travels with the klan Is a devil and not a man For underneath his white disguise I have looked into his eyes And I say brother, brother, stand by me It's not so easy to be free ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=492YEJ3oyFE ) Good morning, everyone. How can such a mild mid-summer day mark such a dark day in history? On this day the Nazi concentration camp complex known as Mauthausen began, starting as a single camp, and growing into the largest of all the Nazi extermination complexes, as the Third Reich began its massive extermination of what they considered to be 'the undesirables.' 11,000,000 people were killed. And the world is allowing it to happen again... "First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a communist..." So I'll drink my tea. Today it's Helladiv's "English Breakfast" tea. Not bad, not great. Drinkable without comment. Suitable for a morning like this. Almost apathetic. Stitchawl |

Finishing off my mug of Lung Ching Dragonwell tea. Been a while since I had this China Green, and I'm reminded why it's so popular. A clean, green tea with a pale yellow licquor, and a slightly grassy nose. (Which gets a LOT grassier and bitter if you make it with water that is too hot - 175F is about right for this tea.)
