I thought ebook.setStandbyWithoutSleep did that. (kbook.model.terminating_specific calls it)
PS There is also a trick of setting auto standby to a low value (I recall probing it on 505), but it MUST be followed by setting it to standard value on wake-up, otherwise reader will autosleep again. Last edited by kartu; 10-27-2011 at 09:33 AM. |

One little thing with your mod to the home page book list. It is sticky to the TYPE of list, but not to the actual list. If I have it showing the next books in a collection, that is not the first collection the book is found, select the next book and read it. When I come back to the home screen, it is still showing books by collection, but it is back to the first collection found. Any way of making ti sticky to the same collection? And any thoughts about being able to turn off some views, like not showing Random? ![]() |

Ben,
600 should already have them. It shares code with x50 in this case. |

Device switches to StandbyScreen and is unresponsive to keys and touch. To wake you will have to flip the PowerSwitch, because obviousely only this action is recognized while in Standby. |

Pinecone:
When the current book is changed, the name of the selected collection is erased on purpose. This is because it has to accomodate the opening of any new book, and even if the new book happens to be the next book in the previously selected collection, there's no way of knowing if the user wants to stick to that collection - and such an assumption would prevent cycling through all collections before the selected one. Once the feature of manually selecting a collection is implemented, you will find that this collection preference is retained when opening a new book. So that might be the preferable option in your case. On the question of disabling options: that is highly unlikely to be implemented, since it requires a relatively large amount of code. I take it you use the cycle function quite often? |

OK, so the manually selected function will make it stay on that collection until I change it.
I see what the point is on your implementation. Although I was thinking it would be smart enough to know that I picked a book from that collection, therefore it should stay on that collection. ![]() I may have a couple of books recently opened that I want to switch to/from and if I am reading a series, I typically read from that series in order. So those are the two that I most use. For ME, the Random and Other Books by Author (I have my authros names as series also), have little use/appeal. I was hoping that with the cycle function, you could use the page that was used to select which Home Page view and select the ones that would be cycled through. Oh well. I will mention every so often and maybe at some point you will have a bolt of lightning illuminated a way to do it. ![]() Thanks for the GREAT mod. |

You're wellcome :-) Regarding PRS+: A great contribution from scilled people! And it is getting even better. Since the last release several improvements have been implemented which are very usefull for using the device in its intended manner (as an ebook reader). So stay informed about PRS+ Up from now it's very simple for you (as you know) to update even with a Mac. A. |

No USB is involved, so I'm not sure how I could be in "safe mode." Each time this happens (not often, unless I'm between books) I find myself reinstalling PRS+. Eric |

Mark,
I see, thanks for your efforts! Eric, just switched on my 950, which I didn't touch for several days. PRS+ is there. (well, check for "usb connected" is very reliable) Did you try rebooting / resetting the reader? I have no idea what could cause effects that you describe. Maybe partition. where PRS+ is stored was damaged in a strange way? Hm. Ping me (kartu3 at gmail ) next time it happens, we could do some tests to figure what's going wrong. |

Never mind. I figured it out.
If anyone experiences the same issue, here's what I discovered: If you add custom CSS files to your Reader at different times, they may appear in seemingly random, non-alphabetical order when you open Book Viewer --> CSS settings. To get them to appear in alphabetical order, delete all the CSS files on your Reader, then re-copy all of your custom CSS files onto your reader at the same time. The next time you open Book Viewer --> CSS settings, they will be in alphabetical order. (At least, that's what happened on my PRS-350.) Last edited by pssquirrel; 10-29-2011 at 08:31 PM. Hi kartu,
How do I enable the PRSP log file? I am wanting to do some debugging, but can't find instructions as to getting the log file to be generated. Sincerely, Ben. |
