Thanks, guys. I tried to do it again today but the competition was just too good and épée was never my best weapon. I only made it to the semi-finals where I had to face first the coach for the Hungarian National team then a Japanese guy who was a two-time Asian Games épée champion. They were both so much better than me I felt like a complete beginner! Then I faced a 40yr old Chinese fellow who used me for target practice.... Humbling ... but fun! This entire tournament was a wonderful experience for me. I made a lot of new friends from all over the world and had a great time doing it! Now I'm sitting in the hotel's bar having a glass of Bombay Sapphire before going to bed. I'll fly home tomorrow morning.

Sounds like a wonderful experience, Stitchawl.
The pool is within 3C of swim temperature, the water is clearing nicely, and the pH and alkalinity are spot on. Once it gets a bit warmer, I'll knock down the excess chlorine, since it has done its job, and swim. Probably tomorrow. Already loaded up the iPod. ![]() Peet's Major Dickason's coffee this morning. |

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to goI'm standing here outside your door Already I'm so lonesome I could cry ![]() Good morning, everyone! I'm sitting over a light breakie that is far less memorable than the rest of this weekend, except for the tea, that is. It's Heladiv "English Breakfast" tea that I brought with me. Good stuff! My bags are a bit heavier than when I arrived 'cuz I bought myself some new Adidas Fencing shoes, a new Hungarian épée, and some extra blades. I hope I won't have to pay an overweight charge. An hour of reading here in the hotel, then it's off to the airport! Stitchawl |

Green tea is good, and I'm much more likely to drink it in the summer. (Especially since I don't ever drink iced tea.)
Starting out with Peet's Major Dickason's blend coffee this morning. After swimming in the refurbished and happy pool. |

A lager beer as I celebrate a long sunny evening (we are just two days past the longest day of the year, and it can still be light coming up to 10pm). Looks like we may even get a proper summer this year

Second tea of the day. Then, set up the new TV (second attempt -- the first one was delivered with a broken screen), do some yard work (I bought a machete for the wisteria infestation) (seriously!), get groceries, etc.

Lovely stuff, Wisteria. But it DOES seem to take over just a bit.
