Good luck, Stitchawl. I know you'll have fun.
Back home after two days "on-site" at the new job, and today I'm taking off completely. Getting caught up on a bunch of stuff that's been put off. So, to get started, a big mug of Peet's Major Dickason's coffee, and now settling down to some Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea.

Can you hear the drums Fernando?I remember long ago another starry night like this In the firelight Fernando You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar I could hear the distant drums And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar There was something in the air that night The stars were bright, Fernando They were shining there for you and me For liberty, Fernando Though we never thought that we could lose There's no regret If I had to do the same again I would, my friend, Fernando ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQJ4ATkPJP8 ) Good morning, everyone! Big day today... Time to give the whole house a super scrub-down before I go out for my walk. My wife comes home tonight and I want it to be spic and span. I'm not the most fastidious of housekeepers and she is. I won't leave dishes in the sink, nor let stuff pile up on the counters, but sweeping and mopping are not something I tend to do until I see a need. With a cat, that need arises for me about twice a week. And now there is a need to do an extra special job... So I'm fortifying myself with Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea, and some Super-duper Energy Bars, ready to face my biggest adversary... the dreaded Vacuum Cleaner (it's not Felicity's best friend either!) I've loaded some bagpipe music into my MP3 player... and once more into the breach! Thanks! It will be a lot of fun, which to me is even more important than winning. I've never been one of those ferocious 'must-win-at-all-costs' sort of competitor at anything. Winning certainly feels better than losing, but as long as I feel as if I've done my best, I'm happy. And in this specific situation, having been away from the sport for so many years, combined with my age... When I was in my 30's I was the Fencing Master for two different clubs. I'd have been certain of winning a Gold or Silver in an event like this. I'm not 32 any more. Let's see if that old adage "Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill" has any validity! ![]() Stitchawl |

Quote:
1 1/2 cups AP flour (I prefer unbleached) 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp baking powder Pinch of salt 1/2 cup choc chips 1/2 cup peanut butter chips 1 cup heavy cream Preheat oven to 375F Combine the dry ingredients, then stir in the cream using a fork. It should make a somewhat sticky dough, but not too wet. (Use more or less cream as needed.) Lift the dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet, press into a rectangle with your hands, and cut into 16 small triangles (8 squares, then make diagonal cuts.) Separate slightly and bake for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. I leave these bare, but I usually glaze fruit ones with a powdered sugar glaze. Enjoy! |

Good morning. Lousy sleep last night, grumpy old mad this morning, but trying to improve. The Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea is helping.

Just finishing my Major Dickason's, and switching to Peet's Pride of the Port tea. A busy day ahead, with a trip to St. Mary's to have some xrays taken stuck in the middle of everything.
