It's always cold.

Why can't we get just a little bit of "unseasonably warm" or "freakishly hot, who knew that the Icebox could even get to 90 F in January?"

It snowed this morning, but thankfully the roads were clear. It's supposed to be sunny but cold for the next few days. I really hate snow

The snowplough cleared a path down my street, and gritted it, at last.
I live on a very steep hill and it's been very slippery.

The estate I live on is just like a skating rink at present; the roads are sheet ice. There's a T-junction onto the main road at one end, which is on a slight slope. If you have to stop at that junction, you're sunk; it's impossible to move again.

Black ice at the Autobahn, and I planned to drive home from work in a few minutes, grrr. I think I better stay right where I am and wait until the gritters have spread some salt on it...

The sheets of ice on the pavements from this morning have gone, mostly, so I could walk on them on my home rather than in the road (i reckoned I had less chance of being knocked down than I did of falling down!).

No luck in this: looked for a flat w/ fireplaces & eventually found it -- want to know the real treat there? Had to build a bathroom in a former bedroom -- & we kept the fireplace so you can have a bath by the fireside... how luxurious is that?

There have been more Eurostar breakdowns and cancellations, so I think that I shall wait until warmer weather before attempting to cross La Manche again.
But my next trip should be free, as compensation for the delays last time.

I have a fireplace in my home in Greece, where it's almost like summer right now I hear!

Here in the UK it's freezing cold (even though the snow is soooo much less than promised), but sadly no fireplace... At least the heating is working (barely) ...
