Use the tools:reports:images tool in the editor for a basic summary of images in the book
As DNSB indicated, blowing up a tiny image will not produce a satisfying experience. Damn Logic altogether and nuke or shrink everything without considering its purpose. ![]() |

I just tried it and it has worked really well. I am very happy right now. And the quality of the great images, I can even zoom in and they still look good. Many thanks to the plugin creator and to you David for the last push.
Greetings! |

I like to order my authors by first name! That worked very well by replacing space by unbreakable space in metadaplugboard and it still works for my old GloHD. Recently there was a change for my Aura 1 which ignores this. I assume the new function to group books by authors is braking the names independent of the kind of space.
To force the order by first name I now use undercore (looking not that nice but proper sorting is more important to me). It works well but ... 1) all multiple authors are sorted at the top of the list although the value looks good without any extra space before or after the ampersand {authors:.20: re( ,_)} Thariot_&_Sam_Feuerb 2) In the past I added more information to the author. But now I like to move that to the sub-title. Switching on the sub-title also set the series information on (independent whether the field is marked or not). I would prefer I can decide whether or not to show them. But beside that, how can I change the series name to titlecase(). I tried metadataplugboard for series: {series:titlecase()| |}{series_index:0>2s| [|]} and KoboUtility update series but it is still uppercase. |

that works great. I did not know how to combine two replaces. To get the grouping in author section I will use ",_" {authors:.20:'re(re($, ' ', '_'), '_&_', ',_')'}
re 2) any idea how to force titlecase or suppress series when using sub-title? |

I'm not sure that the driver can affect subtitles already on the device, aside from from overriding it, but could be wrong.
I use user-managed #subtitle (long-text, interpreted as short text - yes, the contradiction there is a bit amusing) column that I put into the KoboTouch(Extended) settings. EDIT: This template takes the value from #subtitle and titlecases it. If there is none, it returns a blank value to override other stuff like redundant series information. Code:
program: if $#subtitle then titlecase($#subtitle) else '' fi Last edited by ownedbycats; 04-11-2023 at 11:28 AM. |

Sub-Title works well for me. But due to using this in KoboTouch(Extended), the series information are also switched on (one more ro in the reader above sub-title, if there is a serie). This is provided also when series is not flaged in KoboTouch(Extended).
Not a big problem but I do not like the uppercase of that series information. Did you find a solution to use sub-title without the series information? |

You mean the separate series subtitle? I think Kobo Utilities' 'update metadata' (or similarly named) can let you override it. I think the all-caps thing is unavoidable though. Check over in the Kobo forums as maybe theres a patch or something.

Hello.
Is it possible that in the library of my device appears a column with the version of the epubs and that when I update any of those that are in my calibre library, compare versions and if there is any superior, automatically send them to my device? |

Considering your issues with multiple authors, I thought I might contribute my own metadata plugboard to correctly manage multiple authors. When I am browsing my Kobo and open My Books -> Authors, I don't want to see entries with multiple authors; I want each author to be listed on their own. By default, Calibre uses ampersands (&) to separate multiple authors, while the Kobo expects them to be separated with commas. Therefore, in order to prevent multiple authors appearing as “Person One & Person Two”, and to also prevent spurious authors like “Jr.” from appearing on the Kobo, I do the following: Code:
program: list_join(', ', re($authors, ',', '、'), '&') In this way, an Authors field of, e.g., “Walter M. Miller, Jr. & N. K. Jemisin” in Calibre gets translated into: “Walter M. Miller、 Jr., N. K. Jemisin” on the Kobo. Two authors. Note that when browsing the Authors view you can already choose to browse by first or last name without any metadata trickery. (So I'm not exactly sure what problem you are trying to solve— I have never needed underscores in my metadata to sort author names properly. The only exception to this is that Mr. Miller, Jr., above, would get sorted as having a last name of “Jr.”, which is a tricky and rare enough edge case that I haven't put more thought into it yet.)
