I have seen Hoarders. Hence my gratitude for digital books.

I own fewer than two dozen print books. Most will be given away after I read them.

I am eating at the accumulation, but I'm highly doubtful that I could get it down to that.

A few years ago I had about 2,000 print books. I dreaded cutting down my library, but the anguish beforehand was worse than actually thinning it down to a few hundred. Only buy digital now, and non-drm when possible.

I've just finished getting the books I wanted from this month's Baen bundle. By using Kobo codes, I got the two books I wanted, and the latest in the Paksenarrion series that came out earlier this month, for just $8.33. Result!

Making my June buying total 6 books for $15.99. I don't think I'll be buying any more before July.

That does make 200 ebooks bought this year though. But I hope to be equally disciplined in July, and only buy books on my wishlist.

I have cut down drastically on my print books as well. I refuse to give up my Star Trek book collection, though. Plus I kept a few others, but I'm down to one book case full anyways.

Not doing well. I've bought a half dozen books in the last week to 10 days. Not good. And it's not like I don't have books to read.

The question is really whether they were all books that are, for example, the latest in a series you're reading, or a new book by a favourite author, and bought at a good discount.

If they were just interesting looking books in a genre you like, then yes, probably not a good purchasing decision.

Checking my records, I see that my latest purchase was my 200th for the year....

OTOH, on the whole, the books I've bought have been ones I've really wanted. Especially the last three.

All two hundered?

Of course, it does make one wonder how many more there are on your wanted list.....

(I've only bought twenty or this year ... but at an average price of about $15, I probably managed to outspend many of the contender here)

Well, I suppose some of the 48 I got from Kobo during the 90% off coupon time in March weren't ones I *really* wanted, but they were too good to pass up.

And the 10 "Gil Cunningham" mysteries in January weren't on a wish list, although I enjoyed the first one. Ditto for the 19 "Amelia Peabody" and 6 "Vicky Bliss" books.

And when I finish my current book, I'll have read 100 bought ebooks.

I haven't even gotten to reading the ones that I got with the Kobo coupons!

But overall, these were all in a series I really like, and ones that I will read in the next month or less. So not too bad.

With the contest, looking at maybe buying an omnibus I've been eyeing if I can get my hands on a 75%.

Kind of hesitant though.
The libraries have it and it's not so popular that I am constantly stuck on a waiting list.

Don't you mean it is so popular that you are are stuck on the waiting list? If it wasn't all that popular, you'd be down low if there was a waiting list.

EEk, bad phrasing.
I mean it's not popular so I don't have to be on a waiting list when I want it.

I read the first one after I read your posts about it. Liked it a lot. It was about 99 cents (US), but the next one, The Nicholas Feast, is $8.39. Only The King's Corrodian is cheap ($1.39 US). I have Nicholas Feast on my wish list. Was hoping the price would go down.

Have you read any more of these?
