I've been using buckwheat for at least 15 years. I'll never go back!! They're not soft, but they conform to where you want them and then stay there, providing support. You should try one and see. It's generally either love it or hate it.

So a rave for sure . . .

Almost for a year now I've been eating breakfast as the same local restaurant almost every morning. I'm feeling a little bloated typing this right now in fact. The main attraction has been a comfortable place, clean and well-lit (lots of windows), with good food at reasonable pricing. That alone would be sufficient to make me 'a regular.' The bonus about the place? I don't think I've seen a waitress there yet that could have been over 25 years old. Appearance? Ranging from pretty to jaw dropping gorgeous. I'd go there just the same, but a little eye candy in the morning is nice.

It's just another confirmation of the fact that pretty people get hired faster, and that if you just look plain and normal, you won't ever be working there.

Yes, they are hired. As cooks and dishwashers.

Mostly in places where eye candy is good for business, it doesn't matter what cooks and dishwashers look like as they don't normally interact with the customers.

Exactly. I wouldn't expect to get hired as a waitress at Twin Peaks or Hooters.
Yes my twin peaks are big enough but the rest of the package is older and grayer.

Now they might hire me as a cook. There isn't enough money for me to ever be a dishwasher again.

But yes, those places hire eye candy.

And to me there is absolutely nothing wrong with that premise because if one doesn't like the fact that they do hire eye candy waitresses, one can apply for a job elsewhere or eat elsewhere.
It isn't like they are the only restaurant in town.

As far as the wait staff being young I think that is entirely do to the make up of the applicant pool. The pay and hours being such as to attract high school students and students at the local technical college looking for some income. Not looking for a job that would support an independent household.

Why only young women applicants? I'd say this is a small rural town that has been largely unaffected by the social justice wars elsewhere. Young men just feel pressure to find young men's type work? Some times the outdated local views of things drives me crazy. Not so much in this case though. Probably a lot to do with this being a small town with little turnover in population. Most families have been here for two to three generations or more. It's funny too how in the local telephone book some very unusual last names are far more common than names like Smith or Jones. Everyone knows everyone just about and the young women working there are the daughters or granddaughters of the customer base. Or classmates [local schools] of the daughters or granddaughters of customers. I'm sort of an oddity with no historical ties to the area.

As far as the young women being so attractive? That I'd have to attribute to the woman who owns the place. It just can't be coincidence.

The 4 legged one is sleeping.
I found a big box of recipes and assorted other miscellaneous papers. Going through them now.
Note we got the coupon a year ago.

Last week my sister's had a stomach bug, which still isn't completely gone yet. It looks like it's my turn now, this morning. I haven't needed to go to the toilet for a while now, so now I'm considering whether to go to work today or not.

Sigh, normally I have a strong stomach.

I suspect licorice, which is an acquired taste for non Dutch people.

I'm feeling better. I did work, luckily I only had to work until 2pm. After having a lunch of toasted pita with cheese I started feeling a lot better. My stomach isn't 100% yet, so I'll have to wait and see what will happen tomorrow morning.
