Amazon to allow downloads of DRM free books

I took a look at that file since it is ridiculously large. The bulk of it is Adobe Photoshop DocumentAncestors metadata tracking changes to the image over time.

It is completely useless and to me it indicates a failure by Tor to clean up their files prior to publication.

It's a Chrome issue. Switch to a different browser if you want the ePub to download properly. But don't switch to one that's chromium based.

I did pick up The Way of Kings when it was free. Is there anything you want to know about it vs the non-Amazon ePub?

Or simply tell Chrome you want to select the location of each download (in Chrome's download settings) and then change the filename (including the extension) to whatever you want before downloading. Since one knows they're downloading an epub beforehand, how hard is to change an extension before begining the download? Or just rename it after downloading. No need for drastic browser switches.

You do not want to get eBooks from Google if they have hi-res graphics other then the cover and title page.. I just tried the Tor 2020 eBook and it's a lot smaller then it should be because the hi-res graphics have been reduced in resolution.

I have one of Sanderson's books published by Dragonsteel in Oct 2025 and it has an epub download. The other five I have are all Tor and have downloads (3 epub, 2 pdf).

When I compare some of the graphics from the Amazon ePub and the Tor ePub, the file sizes and resolution are the same. So it looks like the graphics with an Amazon ePub have not been modified at all.

Most everything else downloads as EPUB.

The Reckoners series and the Skyward series don't have a download option.

I'm not sure about some of his most recent books, though.

Those two YA series are with Delacorte Press (Random Penguin) and have DRM.

Good point. I was just mentioning them to be as thorough as possible.

I forgot to mention that Edgedancer is also not downloadable for me. However, I appear to have an older version, so that's likely why. Intererestingly, the metadata for my copy says it's from Tor Publishing Group. The current version is from Dragonsteel.
