It’s also so you want an 8inch reader, with a crisper display, that handles dark mode better, and supports audiobooks.
If you answered yes to the above posts, except for needing it to be 8 inches, and stylus support then consider the Libra 2 which also gives you an hour or two more audio time. If you answered yes and need the stylus and an 8 inch device get the Sage. Personally I have a 32GB Forma, my Sage replacement arrives later today. I got it for the screen improvements. I also had the disposable cash to do so. |

I need a 8inch reader (I had KA1 time ago and now I have Forma) but I don't need to use the stylus neither I can use audiobooks as Kobo doesn't have the audiobook store in Italy.
I would appreciate the 32GB instead of 8 GB and the light which seems to be a bit better than Forma. So the question is limited to: 32GB instead of 8 and a better light than Forma, are enough to spend money for Sage? |

I know in my first cycles, but the Sage does not have a great autonomy : 3 / 4 days.
I didn't expect it to be great, but still. |

I of course like the 8'' sage screen but i got disappointed by the light uneveness in youtube reviews. I can not gamble on it since returning the item is next to impossible from here in the Philippines. The stylus is only a plus for me which i think i will use the first month and then forgotten when the novelty wears off. |

I received my Sage from Kobo yesterday. I'm very pleased with it.
What I like: Light uniformity. Virtually perfect. No complaints. Size. Larger than my Libra H2O. Dark Mode Sharpness Audio book feature What I don't like: Comfort lighting is more yellow and subdued than my Aura One or Libra H2O. Very minor complaint, since this could be an advantage depending on your preferences. Multiple steps to engage and disengage dark mode. Would like it to be easier. Again, minor complaint. Overall, great reader. Probably will be my daily user. |

For the users with an Elipsa and the Sage: Do the handwritten annotations sync between devices? I've tried it with a book I bought from Kobo with the Eplisa and the Forma. The markings in the book are transferred to the Forma but the handwritten annotations are not. Is this working with the Sage?

I buy many ebooks I already have on paper for convenience, so I can get rid of the paper: I've had shelves collapsing because the walls didn't hold, and I've bought again books I couldn't find, and my small arthritic hands can't hold heavy books any more. Also I want all the reference books at hand when I'm reading, and the complete works of all my favorite poets for instance, though one thing paper books have ebooks don't is face to face original/translation. |

Can we write to .kepub files loaded with Calibre with the Stylus Pen? What is the latest status on this issue? Or is the pen, unusable unless bought from Kobo?
Goodereader mentioned this in his review video, but it's still unclear. What is the final result now? |

You might also want to consider the ergonomic differences, if that's important to you. The Sage is heavier, the weight seems to be distributed differently, and it looks to be more slippery to hold. It's hard to judge without holding both and a cover, if you plan to use one while reading, might make the differences less noticeable. Sadly, the 32gb Forma is more expensive than the Sage though.

I admire all these people using a stylus with a purpose, I've used the Samsung note devices for a number of years, which also come with a stylus, and forget all about the stylus because I can't really find a purpose for it other than say colouring in, lol.
(But I prefer using paper text and for a lot of non fiction books, so I guess that is one reason why an ereader stylus isn't for me) Last edited by Lynx-lynx; 10-26-2021 at 05:54 PM. |

No, you can't. It only works on epubs and PDFs, so the stylus is useless to me.
