As long as you did the Build for Android and copied the whole folder over, it should work. Need to make sure your book on the Android device is the one from the Calibre library, not any other copy, because the GUIDs need to be the same. If they aren't the exact same book, the Author Profile and stuff might load, but the X-Ray wouldn't.
I attached an image of how your folders should look, where the extras files go.
You can see that the X-Ray filename has a bunch of stuff relating to the book specifically, while the others don't.

After enabling "Use kindleUnpack", which was disabled by default, android kindle app is now showing X-ray information

for some reason without kindleUnpack the generated uuid was invalid/wrong. Because the only thing that is changed is the xray file name's hexadecimal value at the end of the file name.

Ahhh, nice find! Would you mind PMing me a copy of that book so I can see why it is generating the wrong filename? My unpacker should be pulling the same value as kindleunpack, but apparently not for your book

Hey guys!

Do you have a solution for the azw3 problem?
I made an x-ray file for a mobi, everything was fine. After that I converted the file to azw3 because I wanted to embed fonts, generated the x-ray file, but it wasn't working. I could open the x-ray menu, and it listed the characters. For every character it lists the appearances in the book, but the highlights are somehow at the wrong place, about 2-3 words after the name. So basically it is working, but the link or whatever it is that triggers an x-ray entry is misplaced.

Other question: In the short tutorial it is written that we should choose the new mobi filetype as output, but that isn't working for me, only the old one. I mean the device(pw3, 5.6.5) gives an error message, that the book cannot be opened. How should I do it?

What I want is to have working x-ray AND embedded fonts, but the latter only works with new mobi or azw3, while x-ray only works with old mobi. Any suggestions?

I've been trying to figure out what is causing the issue with AZW3, but haven't had much luck so far. Have you tried using the KindleUnpack option instead? I hadn't thought of that until just now, but I would not be surprised at all if my unpacker isn't working properly with AZW3s.
I had a similar issue with using the new mobi format on the PW1. Books converted as 'new' wouldn't open, with no real explanation. Hopefully someone else might be able to shed some light on that one.

Have you tried setting the mobi filetype to both in Calibre? I tried it, but even after fixing asin, the builder gave an incorrect asin error message.

Oh, yeah. I think I fixed that in the upcoming version, I'll have to double-check. Basically, 'both' format creates a mobi with both individual types within it. The fix-ASIN thing only fixes the ASIN in one of the formats within the container (old format I think), but my unpacker takes the ASIN from whichever is last in the container (new usually). KindleUnpack does it correctly I think, so it should work with that for now.

The 'input string' error looks like an issue with the Amazon search algorithm that we use. Which book in the series were you processing?
As for the aliases, did you edit them at all when it prompted? If so, can you post your .aliases file in a SPOILER tag? If not, you need to add some aliases for the characters. Alternatively, you can check the "automatically split aliases" option which will do the work for you but won't always work (can cause false matches in some cases).

@juan_carlos: I did some tested and found the same problems. Using the 'new' option causes the book to not load at all on my Kindle. I'm hoping eschwartz or someone will comment on that.
Using an AZW3 caused the incorrect highlights like you mentioned, but for me I was able to set the offset to -16 and everything aligned properly again (for the 3 books I tried!). I have no clue where this offset is coming from...
Try -16 and see if it works for you.

I see, I didn't know I had to add aliases manually as I thought it downloaded them from shelfari or something. So I have to add in them manually after the | line right? Darn that is gonna be hard for this book as there are like 100s of characters lol and to top it off I don't know the half of them either

Nah, the aliases are something that are only useful for the program. I toyed around with the idea of having to edit Shelfari to include them but it just wasn't practical.
For massive books, you may want to just stick with the Automatically Split option to save yourself the trouble. If you still get no locations found for certain characters, you can edit the aliases for just those characters manually.
If you need to figure out how their name shows up in the book, you can check the 'save rawml' and do a search for their name in the book content (gets saved in the \dmp folder).

Try -16 and see if it works for you.

It seems to work perfectly with -16. The highlights are still misplaced in the x-ray menu, but in the actual text it works.

In this case you have to manually correct every single name. I think it tries to split the left side, and finds duplicates because it contains the same name twice - Lini (aka Lini Eltring). So delete one of the instances, and also 'aka' if you want to be totally correct.
