If you're looking for a good word to insult someone with, but being subtle about it, I like "nugatory". As in "I'd like to congratulate you on your nugatory efforts..." or "You're a really nugatory person..."

UKHaiku, allow me to introduce you to the Words: Jay or Nay Friday thread. i can tell already you're going to love it. nugatory, being an actual real word, would go in that thread. (personally, i would put it as a "yay" word, because i find it thoroughly cromulent).

the mozzling thread is for words we have mozzled ourselves, the word "mozzle" being itself an illustration of the phenomenon. i would actually explain it to you or give you a link but i promise you it's much more fun if you do a search yourself. just trust me on this. i will give you one little clue : tags are your friend. oh, and a little tip : you cannot resist the unutterable silliness. let yourself go. enjoy the descent.

let us know how you feel when you get to the other side.

(and by the way, thanks for the link to yet another online dictionary. i love dictionaries and collect them. the beauty of online dictionaries is they don't take up any shelf space.)

I can't keep up - too many great words mozzled that I've now forgotten. I think I like Dale's idea of putting some of this in the Wiki. How about a section of the Wiki devoted to The Lounge with subsections for mozzlings, poetry, scribblings, avatars, t-shirt phrases, etc.? Not to replace the threads - heaven forbid! But to augment the threads so we could see a quick summary of the major milestone contributions without having to go through a thousand posts. There could be links back to the threads at the point of their first posting so you could then read the responses. Or should we avoid polluting the truly informative Wiki with our nonsense? If we thought it was worth doing, we could make the task more palatable by dividing the work up with each volunteer putting together one thread. Or should we just have another cup of tea and go back to reading?

ok, to be serious, i like the idea of creating an entry in the wiki for the poems, and i like a wiki entry for the mozzles as well, like a glossary (ideally in alphabetical order...), with the mozzle, its definition and a link back to the thread / post.

someone also mentioned a long time ago creating a wiki entry about the history of mobileread, sort of a "milestones thread" for the forum as a whole instead of individuals. not sure whether anything came of that but i still like the idea.

however, sadly, i cannot volunteer for anything at all at the moment, so y'all will have to sort this out without me.

or just have another cup of tea and go back to reading.

By the way, do not fall for the persistent rumors that Aggie Jokes are created by those attending the University of Texas (properly known as "T-Sips," who only admit that they have a rivalry with us when they happen to have beaten us recently ... unfortunately they admit the rivalry quite a lot, in recent years) -- those derogs couldn't come up with a good joke if they swallowed one with with a quart of regurgitant, they just poach the jokes that we Aggies come up with ourselves and claim that they thought of them. Rather sad, really.
