I have to re-lookup a bunch of dates because the date opened in Calibre Companion overrode the date I entered in Calibre and I didn't realize it until earlier today. So I've had to turn that sync off altogether as there is no way to set the sync to go only from Calibre to Calibre Companion. And if the info is different, the info in Calibre Companion will override the info in Calibre. (Doesn't matter which was updated the most recently). I will miss having the pretty green checkmark in list view to show that the book has been read, but I do not want to risk the data getting messed up again.

It's only about 60-70 books (as I opened a bunch to check the formatting) and then that date stayed in CC even though I had then unchecked the box (to use "today's date) and changed my dates in Calibre when I last synced. Glad I caught the issue now, but

ETA: okay it ended up being 73 books

The whole series did, the Corps Security crew.

ETA a rockstar deal. $.99 A Lush Betrayal by Selena Laurence. I really enjoyed her Hiding From Love series, the novella is freebie I believe at Kobo if you want to sample her writing.

Note: This anthology is only available for a very limited time! Each book is either a first in a series or read as a stand alone.

Erika Ashby - Moving Forward (Book 1 in the Timing is Everything Series)
J.L. Berg - When You're Ready (Book 1 in the Ready Series)
M.J. Carnal - Taming the Bachelor (Book 1 in the Moretti Novels)
J.S. Cooper - The Last Boyfriend (Book 1 in the Forever Love Series)
Brooke Cumberland - Spark (Book 1 in the Spark Series)
Kimberly Lauren - Beautiful Broken Rules (Book 1 in the Broken Series)
Adriane Leigh - Wild (Book 1 in the Wild Series)
Kasey Millstead - Cowboy Town (Book 1 in the Down Under Cowboy Series)
Mia Sheridan - Stinger (Sign of Love Series, all stand alones)
Harper Sloan - Axel (Book 1 in the Corps Security Series)

ETA, nope, I don't have Kasey Millstead or J.S. Cooper, can anyone recommend them? Might grab it if so. I'll also check and see if it's available at Kobo later on too.
Thanks for posting that. I got it mainly for the Mia Sheridan title as I have heard so much good about her. But, do you know where in the series Stinger goes in. I know they say they can be read stand alone yadda yadda, but its still called the sign series, so there is an order. I am extremely OCD with reading things in order. I can't stand it if I read a so called stand alone and then I come across a character and read about them with their partner before I get to that book. If that makes sense. So I'd like to know where this one fits in chronologically, or if in this case it really doesn't matter at all. It will still make me twitchy, but I'll live.

I really like her writing, she's pretty much auto-buy for me. The series order:
1] Leo
2] Leo's Chance
*note, IIRC these are the only 2 that are really tied together, but can be stand-alone, it's basically a her viewpoint vs his viewpoint, but there's a major plot twist to it that I can't give away or it will spoil the story.
3] Stinger
4] Archer's Voice

I hope you enjoy her writing if you buy it.

Thank you so much for this . I read the sample to Leo and liked it. The right people seem to like those books on goodreads. I am always looking for more good contempo.

Which reminds me, I just finished "Meant to Be", which is a Montlake title and a series about a small island on the east coast and it was a 5 star for me. I don't usually like the small town stuff as it can get a bit too cutesy, but this one was fantastic. Maybe because its set in a fishing town? No clue, it just worked. Author is Terri Osburn. So many great characters in this one.

I came across it through the kindle firsts thingy they have for prime members. This months selection is the 3rd in that series, so I had to start at the beginning first.

I started with this series awhile back when the first one was on special and I just grabbed the third, Home To Stay through the Kindle First program (it's $1.99 for the month of April on that program. Link to the Kindle First program). I've really enjoyed the series and would rate the first two as 4 stars.

I am planning to split some ePub bundles using Calibre, and you know how varied the formatting can be!

Anyway, in one instance the individual covers are already part of the bundle file. How can I get the split books to show the covers that are already there, opposed to downloading the covers anew and thus needlessly enlarging the files?

In another instance there is no TOC at the start of the individual books, just a very long one for all the volumes together at the start of the bundle. I understand from what I have read here that I can create a new TOC for the split book, but how do I go about it?

Thanks ever so much for your advice!

The ARe series showcase freebie for today (4/16-4/17) is Called to Mate by Lynn Tyler, book one in the Pack Mate series.
Quote:
Description
Declan, the new alpha of the pack, is burning with desire as dominant meets submissive in this explosive romance. A dark past and danger waiting around the next corner. Only fate knows if their love is strong enough to overcome the perils waiting for them.

Declan’s chance to be the alpha of his pack has finally come, but in order to take over he needs to find a mate. Finding the gorgeous and fragile Quinn living in his parents’ home, his body heats for no other.

Quinn is a submissive male wolf who has spent most of his life abused by his former alpha. But being mated to his new pack’s alpha provides him with a level of safety he’s never known before, and a whole new world of passion and lust.

Just as their love begins to blossom, a wolf from Quinn’s past threatens the happiness he’s found in Declan’s arms.

Content Notes: Paranormal, Wolves, GLBT, M/M

Click edit book and find the image then right click and choose mark for cover image then save the changes.

Click edit TOC button in Calibre and you can add a TOC either manually which doesn't take long or by xpath. I love this feature and use it alot.

A new release, it's already getting good great reviews at GR. $.99 Unfixable (Entangled Embrace) by Tessa Bailey

blurb:
A new adult novel from Entangled's Embrace imprint...
He’s the last thing she wants…but the only thing she needs.

Willa Peet isn’t interested in love. She’s been there, done that, and has the shattered heart to prove it. Ready to shake the breakup, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. But there’s a problem. A dark-haired, blue-eyed problem with a bad attitude that rivals her own. And he’s not doling out friendly Irish welcomes.
Shane Claymore just wants to race. The death of his father forced him off the Formula One circuit, but he’s only staying in Dublin long enough to sell the Claymore Inn and get things in order for his mother and younger sister. He never expected the sarcastic American girl staying at the inn to make him question everything.
But even as Willa and Shane’s fiery natures draw them together, their pasts threaten to rip them apart. Can Shane give up racing to be with the woman he loves, or will Willa’s quest to resurrect the tough-talking, no-shit-taking girl she used to be destroy any hope of a future together?

Blossom had to help me out before when I got a 10 book set and couldn't get to a book.
Without her I wouldn't have been able to read the one book I really wanted to read. I haven't even attempted any of the others in that set.

Unfortunately, I am having problems again with the "Exposed" 10 book set I just bought. I cannot figure out a way to split this. I try using it after I extracted the epub and I have nothing but one file listed. Nothing to mark each book and create new book.

I think I really am going to stop buying boxed set. They aren't worth my frustration anymore.

I tried converting from epub to epub and I got a long list of files, but no indication where the next book stars. How am I suppose to split if I don't know whats what.
