You are correct. I forgot to include Ted Cassidy's name in the post. He played both Lurch and Thing. According to "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Tunes In To TV" he signed a separate contract for each character.
Per Wikipedia, Ted Cassidy also did some voice work for Hanna-Barbera. I remember his appearances in the live-action/animated series The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher, and Huckleberry Finn were live action, everyone and everything else in the series was animated). New trivia item: In the "The Wizard Of Oz" book series, the Tin Woodsman was originally human. Last edited by Solitaire1; 12-29-2014 at 12:05 PM. Reason: To add to the original post. |

Mike the Headless Chicken (April 1945 – March 1947), also known as Miracle Mike, was a Wyandotte chicken that lived for 18 months after his head had been cut off. Although the story was thought by many to be a hoax, the bird's owner took him to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City to establish the facts of the story. He was fed with an eye dropper.

I'm using the Kindle Cloud Reader to access The Word Museum this time. It's very convenient as I don't have my Kindle or Windows laptop on me.
According to The Word Museum, to cabobble means to "mystify, puzzle, confuse." I know I'm feeling a bit cabobbled now, especially when thinking of The 2015 Reading Challenge List I have to type up soon... within two days? |

There are no offences for which you can be put to death in the United Kingdom. The last capital punishments were outlawed in 1999 by Jack Straw.

Since the Celsius temperature scale was defined in terms of absolute zero and the triple point of water, the melting point of ice is no longer 0°C but just a little lower, at just above -0.0001°C, and the boiling point of water is about 99.974°C.
Of course, the boiling point is very sensitive to atmospheric pressure. Measuring the boiling point at a pressure equivalent to being in a basement 5 metres below sea level will return it to 100°C. |

The word cookie is derived from the Dutch word Koekje, meaning a cake.

I lived in Denver for a short while. Denver is the 'mile-high city'. I did indeed find that my spaghetti took an unexpectedly long time to cook. Then I looked it up - in Denver water boils at about 94.4°C (202°F)!
