Damn, I have a problem, I try to install 1.2.6.26 and update ok, but when I copy launcher.png to kobo, I can´t see it, kobo don´t show.

I do the same steps that when I installed 1.2.6.22 and 1.2.6.24 well, but now it don´t works.

Then I do a reset factory, try to install 1.2.6.25 and 1.2.6.24, but have the same problem, launcher.png don´t show.

Before I installed new versions, I uninstalled others, I deleted .kobo/launcher, and deleted launcher.png.

:-(

Did you delete the launcher.png entry in kobo's library, on the kobo device, first? The factory reset would do that as well but shouldn't be needed. When you connect to your PC you should be able to see if the launcher.png is still there or not.

Getting the launcher.png recognized and processed by Kobo is all done by Kobo software and really has nothing to do with Sergey's software. The launcher.png must have been processed by Kobo and properly display as a full page image when selected, before you actually install any of the pchess 1.2.6 build software.

The launcher.png needs to be in the same directory that has the .adobe-digital-editions, .kobo and .kobo-images hidden folders. If your PC is not running under a windows OS, you may need to have it set to display hidden folders.

Once the launcher.png is in the proper location you need to safely eject the Koboreader drive from your PC and disconnect the USB cable. At that point you should see, on your Kobo device, the message that it is processing the media. If you don't see that message from the Kobo software, or just to be on the safe side, restart your device. When it starts back up, you should see the processing message, if the launcher.png file had not been fully processed by the Kobo software.

The Launcher Icon should now be on your Kobo Home page, just like a newly added ebook would. You should select it and see that it brings up a full page image. If it does then you have gotten it processed and recognized by the Kobo software and you can reconnect to your PC and continue with the installation of the pchess 1.2.6 build software.

If you can't get your Kobo software to properly recognize the launcher image file or you don't have the file in the proper folder, Sergey's software can't work properly.

Luck;
Ken

For future updating you need not add or delete the launcher.png as long as it remains properly processed by Kobo and in Kobo's database and the database is uncorrupted, just leave the launcher.png as it is. If the database gets corrupted and/or you have to do a factory reset, you may have to delete the existing launcher.png file in your kobo device's Library to be sure it is removed from the database and reinstall it, so that you can be sure that it is processed properly, as you rebuild from whatever caused the corruption or need to factory reset.

Hello Sergeyvl12, maybe 'Previous Page' and 'Next Page' rather than up and down?

Also, Installed the new update, swiping works great thanks so much!

Is selected a book from the recent books screen broken or is there something special you have to do to select a book?

Yes, this is because we can select 3 actions:
1. Just open a book
2. Remove book from the recent list
3. Open book's folder

It's just that if you don't know how to do it and are used to just do a short tap on a book to open it, you wonder why nothing happens. I wondered the first time, too - and than simply tried to tap any icon and see what happens.

The thicker line under the book is also not very obvious, at least on the Aura HD, so at first I thought the taps were not even registered at all. Now I know how it works.

Hmm, I'm using Coolreader on my Android phone, Kobo Mini and Kindle Paperwhite, but I don't think Android version is really better than e-ink ones. The most important part of CR, the engine (crengine) is absolutely the same in every version. The interface is different - but not better, not worse, just different IMO. The only real missing feature is "highlight/dictionary" function, but I'm sure Sergey will make it up in the future.
