With some googling, I'm still not totally certain of its meaning, but my word, I do like it. Can I have my superhero-logo tattooed on my front instead (we'll work out the "screwed and blued" bit some other time)?

I'm sorry for stomping on your suggestion. Sometimes I let my superego get in the way of polite behaviour. I cede my image to the suggestions and creativity of my far-more-worthy-and-objective compatriots, neko-chan.

re: screwed, blued, and tatooed means severely cheated. The original had "Jewed" instead of "blued", no doubt the change made to mitigate the stereotype and render the phrase more amenable to common use. "Tatooed" in this sense meaning, permanently marked as a gullible idiot.

This fellow disagrees with me, though. Says it's naval jargon for having seen and done it all. I've never heard it used like that, though.

Well, I'm glad they changed it. References I found were naval in origin (lovingly screwed, "blued" in naval dress, and tattooed "hey look, I've a ships anchor on my bicep style" - basically, ship-stop completely satiated in-foreign-port, or just fully inducted into the navy).

I'm a gullible idiot. I must get a tattoo. I'm thinking a tail up my back would be nice...
