I don't have a clue on either one of them.
However, I'm ticked off that I missed And Then There Were None, because I've read that book. I knew something sounded familiar, but just couldn't place it. |

I'm in the meaningless camp. Damn all that time I spent reading Wired magazine.

Yep, no way I was going to get either one of them. The only thing I've read done by Virginia Woolf was To the Lighthouse and I absolutely hated it. The way she goes into what everybody is thinking is like listening to my grandmother tell a story. "I went to the store to buy some milk, and was wearing shoes, but these shoes hurt my feet. Do you remember that TV show with the agony of defeat? When I was a kid we didn't have TV...." Somebody just shoot me.
As long as my Google skills are up to the task, poohbear's other book looks really good. It looks like they made a BBC TV series out of the books, and at least one of them is available on Netflix. |

The Gently books are fun reads - I also enjoyed the TV series on DVD - quite loosely based on the books - but Martin Shaw was perfect in the role. I'll be around (virtually) - power company willing! |

So I anticipate that this should be easy:
He had been to touch the great death, and found that, after all, it was but the great death. Pooh it is usually power that falls first. From the morning coverage it looks like NC is getting hit first? |

Well apparently not that easy. Second clue:
As he gazed around him the youth felt a flash of astonishment at the blue, pure sky and the sun gleaming on the trees and fields. It was surprising that Nature had gone tranquilly on with her golden process in the midst of so much devilment.” |

So two more clues. The second hidden is a spoiler tag because it is such a pointer.

The lights are already flickering here and we're still hours away from the worst of the storm, so if someone could step into the breach I'd be grateful. I probably won't be around to service a quote. First comer has it.
