Basically saying my own suggestion: rename the option from "Airplane Mode" (which, frankly, is meaningless, hence the big ol' description the option has to have to tell you what it does) to a simple wi-fi on/off toggle.

When the Kobo crashes, you need to hook it up to a PC to restore it all back. It'd be nice if that option didnt exist. Or that you could back up everything onto a SD card in the event you are travelling, and need to restore it without a PC being available. I'm leaving the country, and I'm still packing a book to be safe.

The problem right now is that there is some bug within the newest Kobo Touch that is causing corruption; whether it be in the file system or the Sqllite database on the unit I'm not sure.

When corruption is detected you are given the option of either doing a reset or ignoring it; if you select ignore items like last page read do not get updated (which points to the database being corrupt).

This corruption seems to happens randomly.

I'd like shelves or collections, so that I can keep a series separate. This is especially bad with Star Wars novels since they have separate authors inside the same series.

I'd also like to see completion status on the library screen as well as a way to view only unread books.

Lastly, I want better Facebook integration. It would be great if I could publish what book I'm reading, what I thought of it, and how far along I am on my wall. It seems strange that Facebook is on the Kobo Touch but you can even post the name of the book you're reading. My friends are more interested in that than if I read at midnight five times.

Oh, one more, it seems like a bug that marking a book as read does not update the complete percentage or books read total on the Reading Life stats page. I shouldn't have to flip through a book on the Kobo to indicate on the stats page that I've read it.

And why not a request that is far fetched for now? The ability to add basic applications. Perhaps a simple SDK to create your own? Specifically I'm thinking of crosswords, interactive fiction, and a flashcard program for study.

It's funny you should mention that. As that is THE main reason I remove the DRM from my books. So that I can change the books Title meta tag so that all my Star Wars books are in sequence. Something easier such collections or series would be preferable.

Would love to be able to tailor the areas on the touch screen to control the page turns. Holding it in my left hand, it's almost impossible to page forward without a finger from the right getting involved!

I would like to have working support for WEP-encrypted WiFi (Mac OS only allows to create a WEP-encrypted hotspot, unfortunately not WPA/WPA2). The actual WEP implementation on the KT simply does not work.

Allow web browser in airplane mode

Technical documentation are often provided in HTML. I do not see any practical reason to prevent access to the web browser while in airplane mode to access local html files. I did not check in that last firmware but I assume that this is still not possible.

A directory should be reserved in the internal storage to place the HTML files. That directory should not be scanned at boot since it may contain images files.

Ideally, the Kobo should also provide a small local web server. The version of busybox in the Kobo Touch is already compiled with httpd (see my page http://www.chauveau-central.net/pub/KoboTouch/ ) so enabling it should be trivial. If busybox httpd is compiled with CGI support then it becomes possible to implement nice features such as gamebooks (If you do not know what a gamebook is then see http://www.ffproject.com/crate.htm for an example)

I believe that gamebooks would be perfectly suited for e-readers. It is unfortunate that they cannot be efficiently implemented in standard ebook formats such as epub.

I supporse WEP is not always WEP... probably there are differences. In that thread there are a couple of people reporting problems with WEP encryption while at the same time they are able to use WPA and WPA2.

Have page counts in sideloaded epubs be based on current font & spacing settings rather than some internal number. Having to turn the page 3-4 times before the displayed page number actually advances is getting rather irritating.

And, again, get rid of that "widows/orphans" crap in Kobo epubs. We don't mind having to turn the page to finish reading a sentance or short paragraph as long as the previous page was full - much better than the excessive page turns caused by all the unnecessary whitespace (which belongs only in a couple of spots: end of chapter, if it doesn't fill the page completely, a couple of blank lines above and below a chapter heading, and 2-3 blank lines between unmarked mid-chapter breaks).

Disagree! I want page numbers that as much as possible reflects paper book pages. I often change font size and I don't want to have the page count change.
I underestand others think differently, so if it could be an otion to have one or the other, that would be great!
