I bought my camcorder too from them. I think they are excellent time. And, regarding shipping times, I was astounded. Many packages sent here in Croatia takes longer to be delivered and very short distances at that.

Anyway, B&H is a good for all international orders as I see it.

Just opened my Reader box. Shipped UPS.

Disappointed to see the amount of visible ghosting out of the box. Hoping that it's just a symptom of a low battery, even though the battery meter reads almost full. The contrast pot probably got cranked all the way up, so I'll probably try cracking the reader and decreasing it if I can't live with the amount of ghosting

When I was at Best Buy looking at their demo reader, the Best Buy sales guy was telling me the ghosting was a feature- "see how you can even see the backside of the next page? It's just like reading a paperback." I asked him how you turn that feature off, but he didn't know. Still though I was surprised to see that somebody at Best Buy knew what a papeback was- there's hope yet...

The ghosting usually fades after some use, so you might want to leave the adjustment pot alone for a week or two.

I was actually just being alarmist. It's pretty much fine the way it is, it'll just take some getting used to. If it doesn't go away like you said, I mean.

You'll probably find that in a week or so you don't even notice it, through a combination of your getting used to it, and the effect fading.

Don't miss the e-books section here at MobileRead -- lots of folks have uploaded boat-loads of books in Reader format.

No doubt. I don't remember it being there when I checked it out in the store, but whatever. I'm already making good use of it, and have gotten a few coworkers into this $60 deal

1. Sign up for the Sony Rewards website. You get 25 points for signing up.
2. Add something to your wish list. You get 50 points for creating a wish list.
3. Add the Sony Reader to your shopping cart. It is 16000 points, but after it is added to your cart, with discount, it lists in the cart for 5999 points.
4. Proceed to checkout.
5. Review your order. It subtracts your 75 points from the 5999 points so you still need 5924 points.
6. Click on the Buy Points button towards the bottom of the page. They are $.01 each. It will then ask for a credit card information.
7. Confirm your order.

The total price is $59.24 which has shipping included.
Following these instructions, I just ordered the reader for $60 shipped.

Thanks, I didn't mean to sound demanding or ignorant. I read something about the cutoff date last night, but I was half awake and I can't seem to find the date for the actual deal timeframe (Something about 08'?, not the extra book-deal which ends on 9/30/07)

I read through the Terms and Conditions, but they seem to apply only to Sony Rewards and not the actual deal. So..

Heh, I didn't think you meant to, or did so, for that matter. Sorry if I sounded like I was taking it that way, I didn't mean that, myself.

Hmmm. You're quite right, of course, it doesn't seem to say. Sorry 'bout that, I thought it did.

Took some digging, but finally rediscovered the answer for you, it's in post #50 in this thread, but the short answer is that you have to open the card account by 10/31/07, and it looks like you probably have to redeem it by 01/31/08.
