Nice idea. And I too understand and agree with Jim . From all I have read for some months, I am happy to have waited before buying. I am going to wait a little more and probably don't buy PB if they don't behave better : create a community, demonstrate internal efforts, publish the SDK with a good documentation, etc.

On my side, I private mailed mtravellerh on Dec 21st 2010 to propose a functionality worth for marketing and quite for zero cost : no answer !!!

So now, it is available for every one : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=122118

Hi mtravellerh,

I have read some reviews of 602/902 and it seems PB has done a great job. So congratulations .

I still hesitate beetween 602/603/902/903 . My concern between 60x/90x being pdf, and the one for x02/x03 being usability vs note taking while considering and external bluetooth keyboard.

One argument which would be determinant is if I could use the x03 as a watcom PC input device only , in addition to its normal use as a reader.

Does someone has tried that ? I think PB people should test it and offer it as a feature.

BTW, if you appreciate the idea, you are welcome to offer me a 903

Kind regards,

lalebarde

For those who mailed to me "is it a fake video?" - second video, with device moving in demonstration process.
For professional programmer it is easier to do a little coding on weekends (with cup of coffee) to port good soft to device than to make such a "fake" video. For programmers of PocketBook it seems is vice versa, easier for them to say that this is a "fake"... But it is not my problem... At work I'm doing more complex things. And I have no time to sit in the forums and answer to such a questions, sorry... I'm just happy at this moment with reading with CoolReader on my 902, and it is all I needed, and it is what I have now, and I no longer need to spend my time asking for something from the PB developers in their forums, sorry...
No bug fixes from unskilled programmers of PocketBook - "Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own reader, with blackjack and hookers". (C)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txx4tef0LJM

PS. I apologize to the good people that I can not give this to them.
But it's a matter of principle in relation to other, bad PB officials who continue to insult me on their russian forum even when I'm out there anymore... Would be better if they spend this time to fix the bad firmware...

Dear JimStar, you are banned for violation of forum rules, what are you offended by the PB officials?
Everyone who understands russian, can read the backstory here: http://www.the-ebook.org/forum/viewt...=584395#584395

Dear Jim,

I tried to follow the above mentioned Thread on the russian forum (Google Translate, not very good but enough to understand the basic discussion), and I can't see any insult or banishment by PB officials. Ok, you were banned for being rude (can' understand that too, but maybe it got lost in translation), and regardless of things that happened in the past, you showed them how easy it is to do better, and now you could be the real hero for all the other users, if you release your version of CoolReader here on mobileread, because everybody will know it was YOU who did this and not PB, and will give YOU all the credit for it, just like fbreader180 originating by SciFiFan, that could never be claimed to be a PB feature.
And the only statement of a PB official I could find here on MR was this

Not native speaker is difficult to understand the veiled rudeness. In the first or second answer to one of my first posts on this russian forum I become such a caddish "answer" from moderator.
Also, the lack of response to multiple boorish remarks from forum trolls in my address, and banning me when I was compelled to answer them (due to lack of reaction from PB moderators) - it is boorishness оf PB that controlls that forum and its moderators. So, it continues even now in the another branch (despite the fact that I'm for a long time is gone) - boorish remarks in my address written yesterday are not removed, so PB continue to encourage it today. So, it does not encourage my desire to help to PB.
That continues in THIS branch, and in the referred post PB official in caddish form denies me my right to get an official answer, despite the fact that I'm an official buyer of their device that costed me 500$. And he subjectively interprets the facts about bugs that I wrote earlier and that he does not like - as a "trolling". Comfortable position. Caddish position.

Sorry, I have no desire to continue to discuss it. Who have the brain and Russian understanding - will understand it, others will believe in a lie about the "forum rules violation"... No time to sit here, sorry...

Sorry to butt in guys - read the first 6 pages but couldn't come to a satisfactory conclusion:

I'm thinking of buying the pocketbook 902 for mainly reading PDF's (programming ebooks). My eyesight is relatively poor (i most probably won't be able to read at 100% or 110% zoom). I also don't want to put anymore strain than necessary on my eyes.

Anyway, what would you guys recommend? Pocketbook 902, ipad, kindle 3 (landscape reading), or something else?

Would appreciate any help! I've been browsing for a while now, and the more I read up on specific devices, the more confused I get

Close this thread...

Why are people here waiting and discussing with someone, who obviously has no more interest in discussing this subject?

Where I personally would never let distrust and anger make me misuse my "powers" :-) - I obviously watched too many movies about "good superheros"...

... I accept, that sometimes for some people it does not feel right to support the community with their own work (though I'd say for sure, that here the wrong people are punished and I see no good sense in keeping back some lines of unsellable code...).

So let us wait for someone who is gifted AND generous enough to share. Or maybe some finally effective developers from kiev. Or at least as soon as possible a developers kit!!

I consider this part of the thread as "closed"...

If you want to know how it can display a specific type of books, then the easiest way is to attach an example and I (or someone else) will post the result.

Well you confessed that you like forum trolling and your messages were indeed inflammatory and rude. That of course is not good excuse for PB official to deny support request.

The PB problem is in claiming the-ebook.org is official support forum when it is not (as far as I know). It's more like community forum. PB don't control all moderators. There are few PB officials there that sometimes answer users questions and that it. In summary support is the weakest point of PB.
