I do have a real espresso machine with steaming wand and etc - which I do use, but that is more setup and teardown then I like to do most of the time.

Finished my last mug of tea for the day. Now preparing for an 8 hour road trip. There may be a Coke Zero or two in my future.

We're having a heat wave,A tropical heat wave, The temperature's rising, It isn't surprising, She certainly can can-can. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Krl_pXXfKEI ) Good morning, everyone! 35° (95°f) outside and it's only eight o'clock! We're in the hottest part of Thailand's seasons, but thankfully it won't last very long. I go through a LOT of water when walking these days! But I always start out with tea, glorious tea! Today it's Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea, corn crackers (like thick rice crackers but made out of popped corn instead of rice) with home-made salsa, chorizo, and melted Monterrey Jack cheese. Nice lite meal for a hot summer's day, then it's off for a walk. Gotta get it in before the rains start this afternoon. Raining a bit every day now, but not enough to make the farmers happy. Me either. I want the torrential rains that are coming... so hard you can't see across the street, but only last an hour. OK... one more mug of tea, and out the door! Stitchawl |

cromag - I hope you had a good road trip and listened to a great book.
![]() VydorScope - I have the whole "espresso machine with steaming wand and etc" thing too, but it is a pain to clean, use, then clean again for just a cup or two. I'll have to try your recipe. Stitchawl - I hope you had a great walk before the rain and you made me remember the chocolate rice cakes in my pantry. off to get some now to go with a fresh cup of coffee.

One pro tip - use less water than normal when you make the coffee for this. Same amount of grinds, just less water.

Colombia Narino coffee from Starbuks, brewed in the Kuerig at work. I have it ground and use an individual K cup. Works pretty well and makes a yummy cup of coffee. It is less expensive then Starbucks, premade K Cups, and better for the environment so YEAH!!!

I've been using the Solofill K3 Gold Cup for my DW's new Kuerig. The three piece combination that came with the Kuerig made weak coffee at best. This works way better. Still a nuisance, compared to the prefilled cups, but that's OK, I keep some of them around but mostly use this.
But this morning, Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend tea. |

VydorScope - Thanks for the tip. I had thought of using a very strong coffee too.
Stitchawl - What great fun to meet an old friend and spend time catching up. ProfCrash - I hadn't heard about Colombia Narino coffee, but have enjoyed the Guatemala Antigua. I just looked up the descriptions of these two: Colombia Narino - "Complex and elegant, medium-bodied with a juicy acidity, herbal notes and a walnut-like finish, it is a unique collection of flavours" and Guatemala Antigua - "It’s an elegant affair: refined in its acidity, identified by the pedigree of its gentle spice flavours and subtle cocoa-like texture." Sumatra coffee in my cup. |

I bought a refill up, it didn't come with the machine (given that the machine is owned by the building that is not a surprise.) Much better then the cups and less expensive

What a day for a daydreamWhat a day for a daydreamin' boy And I’m lost in a daydream Dreamin ‘bout my bundle of joy And even if time ain’t really on my side It’s one of those days for takin' a walk outside I’m blowin’ the day to take a walk in the sun And fall on my face on somebody's new mowed lawn ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU8COHUrGi0 ) Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful morning! Another in a string of beautiful mornings that began about 47 years ago when I discovered that all it takes to be truly happy is to wake up alive and well with no one shooting at you. I'll celebrate that this morning with a mug of unbranded Keemun tea... a perfect accompaniment to a perfect morning. The day should turn out pretty nicely too! We're fencing again today, a mid-week practice to get ourselves tuned up before the big game. Then I'm off to find a new office chair. The pneumatics on my chair gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago and I'm fighting a battle with height adjustments. The chair is winning... I pick my battles carefully, and fighting with a chair just ain't one of 'em! New chair coming up! Stitchawl |
