Just had my first sip of Talisker Storm - very nice! A strong peppery nose with a complex taste spectrum ... initially sharp & peppery followed by a strong undercurrent of peat, and finishing on the back of the tongue with a lingering iodine/sea salt

Have you tried it Charlie? It just appeared here in the US in 2014 ...

It is created from a mixture of single malts aged in recharred casks - of varied agings ... I hope it is added to the permanent Talisker family

No, I have't tried it yet, pooh. I want to, but I have to justify to SWMBO. And then get someone to bring it up here from elsewhere in the Province. (There's plenty available, just none on the Coast.)

Probably when I finish this book completely.

Tonight? A bit of diet coke and off to bed early. And then off to the local Farmer's Market in the morning, early.

Good morning, everyone! Another delightful Saturday morning with yet another delightful cup of East India company's "English Breakfast" tea and offerings from the Food Lady. Today may turn out to be one of the hottest on record here... Yesterday was close... But today being Saturday, it's a day for combat by swordplay... and that is HOT work indeed! Fun... but I'll probably lose 5lbs just in sweat, only to gain it back again in the liters and liters of water chugged down as we play. Hey, if this were 'Dune' we'd be recycling! (Glad we aren't...)

Happy Easter, everyone! Although we can't find Cadbury Cream eggs or even marshmallow peeps here, we can still color our own hard-cooked eggs! It's somewhat surprising that although Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween are all celebrated (at least marketed in the department stores,) there seems to be almost no mention of Easter. Oh well... By the way, don't make the mistake I did once of trying to make 'smores' out of peeps. They just don't toast up very well... at all.

I'm drinking Viang Joom On's 'English Breakfast' tea this morning, and getting ready to eat some Easter eggs, Canadian bacon, and home-made bread still warm from the oven. Happy Easter, one and all!
(BTW... do you know how you keep Canadian bacon from curling in the pan?

Fresh coffee with my sweet and sour chicken and rice with bow macaroni pasta salad. Yeah, I know, I'm really mixing the flavors, but I was hungry for both flavors and just had to make it for dinner.

Vending machines around campus take debit cards - seems to make sense with all the trouble the coin and cash fed ones have - but because I know how they store your credit card info process it - I would not use one.

Yeah, the machines on the Thruway take credit cards, too. Psychologically, I just have a problem buying a soda with a credit card. (And, yeah. If they can't be trusted to give me my 75 cents, do I really want to trust them with my credit card?)

Afternoon Diet Coke as I struggle through author review on the first chapter I submitted. It's a mess, with all sorts of template issues and artifacts from a Word crash. Sigh. Painful. But tonight, going to friends for dinner and relaxing. Then back at it tomorrow.
