Ah, an afternoon tea break for Keemun Xian Zhen from TeaSpring. This really is the best Keemun I've ever had.

![]() Rooms to let...fifty cents. No phone, no pool, no pets I ain't got no cigarettes Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room I'm a man of means by no means King of the road. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrhAC0dFis0 ) Good morning, everyone! Having survived my wife's Chamomile tea last night (did I really marry someone who could drink that insipid brew?!?) I've decided that today needs to be a bit more definitive. So I've decided to go off and find some elephants to play with. If I get to the area early enough I can get into the river with them and get some good photographs. But first... tea! REAL tea this time, not flower slush. Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea (a tea you can walk on!) some home-made Rye bread and Camembert cheese. I'm on my second mug of tea and already feel the restorative powers of caffeine. ![]() Stitchawl |

That's one of the more odd combinations, however I have to admit to a drunken weekend of green tea and vodka. I'd been on the mountain teaching skiing for a week without a break and run out of everything else
Most tea has as much if not more caffeine than coffee |

Generally speaking, without caffeine it's a 'tisane' rather than a tea, although there are some tisanes that do have a bit of caffeine. (Tisane is really a name for 'herbal' drinks.)
The teas that I prefer ALL are high caffeine brews, black teas either straight or blended together. I used the tequila to rinse away the taste of the Chamomile, which was tasted only because I'm a good and loving husband and my wife said 'taste this, dear...' Lol! We were actually talking about chamomile tea at work today, one of the brokers is from Germany and she was pretty funny about the chamomile tea for EVERYTHING that ailed you. I certainly saw how prevalent it was used, but she was pretty funny about it.
Anyway, yeah, probably one of those moments |

But right now, it's an afternoon mug of unbranded Keemun tea. I am SOOO glad I was able to buy as much of this stuff as I did, when I did. It's good! Stitchawl |

Good morning! The DW got back from a run to the States, bringing with her our latest US purchases. Including Peet's K-cup version of Major Dickason's, which I had this morning, and it was delicious. It will be good to be able to just pop one of those little babies in and have a cup of the Major. Plus she brought back a pound of Lion Mountain Keemun, which should hold me for most of the year.
She also brought back a 1/4 Lb tin of this year's Anniversary Breakfast Blend, which I'm drinking right now. Very nice. Almost identical to last year's blend, from what I can tell. They say the base is Yin Jun Mei (a smooth China Black), with a healthy dose of Ceylon whole leaf. And there's definitely some Assam there. All in all, very like last year's, and delicious. Recommended. |
