Works perfectly for me with the attached version. Do you somehow customize "website_encodings" in your configuration file? Also this might seem somewhat far-fetched, but if your internet connection is as bad as it sounds currently, it might be due to that -- same reason your zip was broken. Can you try again? And make sure to restart Calibre between installing and removing the plug-in, just to make sure.

I attached a more robust version, but it should work without these changes.

Attached is the current patch file in case you want to take a look at it / make suggestions. If Tanjamuse doesn't discover any other problems I'd appreciate it if you applied and committed the patch. I'm the commit often, commit early guy so I just "fast forwaded" them into a single commit.

Attached is a test version with all of cryzed changes as of his posted patch plus a new option anthology_tags that can be set blank to suppress adding the 'Anthology' tag.

@Amalthia - To prevent the 'Anthology' tag on AO3 series, put this in personal.ini:

Change it to [defaults] to prevent it for all sites.

@cryzed - I rearranged the sections in the default ini files to be a bit more alphabetic. And I don't put www at the start of the section name anymore unless the site requires it.

Also, I make a habit to go back and remove old test version zips when I post a new one just to keep the size of the forum DB down. You might consider doing the same.

The adapter for http://voracity2.e-fic.com/ wasn't able to properly parse summaries containing HTML, this should be fixed now. You can also now use "reviews" and "readings" on the title page if you want to. There were some other minor changes too, but nothing that should affect you -- if it does, please report back and I'll fix it. My tip: archive all stories as long as you can, the software it runs on is archaic.

The same goes for the http://spikeluver.com/ adapter, there were also problems when parsing summaries containing fancy HTML markup -- this should be fixed now. If it isn't, I doubt I can do much more, the site layout doesn't allow me to do much parsing with certainty unfortunately. My tip: archive all stories as long as you can, the software it runs on is archaic.

Regarding http://bloodshedverse.com/, I tested a few stories of my own and I didn't have any problems whatsoever with them, I hope you don't either. On another note, the sample story you mentioned earlier contained random links without any references in the chapter text, I added an option that automatically strips these and turns them into regular text. If you don't want that, you can add this line to the adapter configuration:

strip_text_links:false

PS: I really hate the eFiction websites, why would you allow your users to include arbitrary HTML in their summaries... and the HTML markup... just horrible.

I seem to be having problems on voracity2- some of the files that are for registered only/adult do not download

for example:

Are you getting the same error? I absolutely can't reproduce your problem. You are positive that you installed the correct version of the zip file right? Maybe you chose the wrong one because you forgot to delete the old one?

Which Calibre version are you running? Are you connecting through a proxy, does your router possibly block this site? Can you even manually access them via your browser?

I suggest that you run calibre in debug mode and try it again. The debug output will help determine where the problem is.

You can run calibre in debug mode from the GUI now with Ctrl-Shift-R or the Preferences drop down.
