Good morning. And it is a good morning. Doing much better today, after getting that chapter out last night and fixing the household repair that totally destroyed my Monday. So thanks for all the support, folks. I really do appreciate it.
Started out with fresh squeezed OJ and a large Peet's Major Dickason's (still a bit sleep deprived), and now a large and delicious mug of Peet's Lion Mountain Keemun. Ambrosia. |

Stopping in for a quick cup of coffee, lunch, and then back to work.
Charlie, I'm glad you are back on track and the day is better. |

Second mug of tea. And I'm stuck in a "first mug of tea" mindset.

Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breatheAnd to love you All I need is the air that I breathe Yes to love you All I need is the air that I breathe If I could make a wish I think I'd pass Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound Nothing to eat, no books to read Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXYYpBts5Kc ) I need AIR!!! The pollution index has reached 192 this morning. I can barely see 500 meters. Thank God the rains will be here in a week or so. Good morning, everyone! Happy Spring! I'm celebrating with an Equinox cup of my newest Ceylon tea... before putting on my respirator! It looks like something out of the "Blade Runner" movie outside my windows! But I bought some heavy-duty particle filter masks so we shouldn't have too much trouble. But I've also caught a cold so I have to keep taking it off to blow my nose! Bother! Oh well... this too shall pass! Stitchawl |

Keep safe, Stitchawl. That air pollution sounds serious. And while you say you have a cold, I'd wager it's much more likely to be an allergic reaction to the pollution. Which means it might help to try an antihistamine. (Won't help a cold at all, but if it helps what you've got, it's pretty clearly allergic, not bacterial/viral.) My current preference for antihistamines is Loratidine. 10mg is enough and they last pretty much all day.
Peet's Holiday Breakfast blend this morning. Seems right for a beautiful, clear, crisp (1C) day. |

11:30 and the index is up to 245 here. I put N95 filters into the air conditioner, and have N95 face masks for when we need to go outside. Unfortunately, my cold is a genuine cold, and so antihistimines do very little for it, though sudafed does held keep things less blocked up. And it should start to rain in a week or so, so we'll be back to the beautiful Thai weather for the rest of the year. This pollution is an annual 3 week affair brought to us by the farmers in Burma and China (and northern Thailand too) getting ready for the rainy season rice planting.
I'll just drink another glass of rum and not pay attention to either my cold nor the air quality until tomorrow! Stitchawl |

You're right, rum should do it. No point wasting good single malt when you're blocked up anyway.

Sunshine, blue skies, please go away.My girl has found another and gone away. With her went my future, my life is filled with gloom. So day after day, I stayed locked up in my room. I know to you it might sound strange. But I wish it would rain. (How I wish that it would rain) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Oh, let it rain. Rain, rain, rain (Oh, how I wish that it would rain) Ooo, baby. Let it rain. (Let it rain) Oh yeah, let it rain. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM7BRP7uzFk ) Good morning, everyone! PM10 index is 248 this morning, and I can barely see the ground under my windows. Oh yeah... let it rain! I'm drinking Twinings "English Breakfast" tea this morning 'cuz I can't taste anything anyway. Why waste the good stuff? I guess I'm going to have to give up today's fencing practice. Between my cold and the air quality (no air/con in the fencing salle) I don't think it would be a good thing. But I'll still go over to the club room. At least I can referee the bouts. A cold won't prevent me from handling the remote control for the score board! But first... a visit to the Food Lady! Quote:

Thanks Stitchawl. I use the ones without the valve, but have put those on my wish list for the next time I need to buy them. I use them a lot when working in the yard, when cleaning out the garage, and especially during harvest season. It is amazing how much gets on the mask.
It was a long day and I treated myself to a Venti Cinnamon Dulce latte. |

Good morning, everyone. Back to a grey and blustery day here, and I'm stuck at the computer all day. So I can get some work done and take at least a little time off tomorrow to watch the Women's World Curling Championships final. Team Canada is through the final, just waiting to see who their opponent will be - Team Switzerland who lost to them last night in the Page 1/2, or Team Korea who won the Page 3/4 playoff.
(The Page Playoff system may well be unique to Curling, at least I've never seen it anywhere else. But I really, really like it. It rewards those who have played well during the Round Robin, but gives a chance for others to win through to the Gold Medal.) Fresh squeezed orange juice, and now a big mug of Peet's Major Dickason's coffee. |
