*I should note if anyone wants to read the Dragon Gate series, the series is epic fantasy. There are hints of romance so far— and the author has verified there will be romance—but the emphasis is on the ‘team up to overthrow the crappy leaders’ plot, with dragons . The books are very much ensembles. FTR, I see two, possibly three, ostensible romances in the first book and another possible couple in the second book. Time will tell…

Sorry for the late posting - I put it in the wrong section.

Fantasy series with romance between humans and dragon/persons. Not quite mommie porn, but is funny. This is ROMANCE not general scifi. I read the early books in paperback (that would be before 2010) and enjoyed them then. All by G. A. Aiken. In this series, you don't really have to read in order so long as you have read book 1 although there will be spoilers.

About a Dragon (book 2) $1.99
Light My Fire (book 7) $1.99
Bring the Heat (book 9) $1.99

Blood Heir is the most recently published (January, 2021) Ilona Andrews book, featuring Julie, Kate's ward/adopted daughter as the main protagonist. This provided a wonderful dose of escapism for me during the winter Covid-19 surge. IA's best known series, Kate Daniels, is probably my least favorite of theirs - although I still like it a lot, I just like others more. But I really liked this spin-off title - Julie's snark, a good dose of romantic tension, a great plot, and a little bit of philosophizing about systems of governance (really!) made it a lot of fun. And even though it was self-pubbed, it hit pretty high on a number of best seller lists, including #7 (and maybe higher) on the Kindle US overall best-seller list shortly after it was came out.

Blood Heir has just dropped to $1.49 at Kindle US, which is by far the lowest price I've seen it at since it was published. IA have indicated on their website that it was received well enough that they will be doing at least one more book in the series, after they fulfill some other commitments...

I just got a notice this morning that this one site is listing a Romance Book Sale. They list 400+ free ebooks, from various sources. I checked out the Amazon link and found them grouped under categories. Got about 50 I didn't have before from Amazon.

There are a LOT of books available for free and they are sorted by retailer, so not just limited to Amazon only KU books.

I've got a huge archive but still managed to find 10 books that I wanted. It takes awhile to get through the list but it's definitely worth it. Some of them will remain on sale for a few days, so even if you don't get to it today 6/24) you should still check it out.

Then when I get a ton of tabs just click on each one to see which ones I have and which ones I want to get. And if they're long enough for me to be interested in. That way they load while I'm still browsing on the main page.

Goes really fast that way. Too fast sometimes, as I rack them up.

FWIW, it's now early afternoon Friday, June 25 (US Pacific time), and the vast majority of these books ^^^ are still free. For the ones I looked at, I'd say 19 of 20 (very rough guess) are still free...
