I can get both the BPL and the NYPL cards, but I have to go traipsing over in person to apply, and just haven't bothered because of the inconvenience--also, until recently, I didn't feel like I really needed the additional cards since I was content with the status quo.

Now would be a good time to get both. Look for the branches nearest you and get your cards from them. Both of them have much larger selections than Queens; and more importantly, they're still doing OverDrive. Browse their catalogs to see what they carry - Brooklyn / New York.

One library was enough for me till this shift from Overdrive. I still prefer to buy most books, so my main library use had become borrowing Kindle books that had companion audiobooks with special pricing. I've become an audiobook junkie!

I belong to a bunch, though I actively use only five. It comes in handy for content and wait lists.

I hear you on audiobooks. They're my preferred method of reading.

My work involves a lot of reading, so being read to has become very comforting and relaxing for me. I am finding that I don't retain content nearly as well when I don't see the words on a page, but on the other hand, who cares? I'm reading thrillers and mysteries for fun, not for a test.

Now that it's the 17th, my cancelled KU subscription is finally completed. Downloaded titles could still be read/listened to; but after syncing, all borrowed/downloaded titles disappeared. Additionally, Whispersync pricing is no longer valid.

Is there a way I can't discover, how to sort audible books in the store by price? I had to return a book (it was horrible narration) and now I have a $3.95 coupon code to use. So far I have found nothing I want for that price!

The only way I found was by searching for books under $10. Not the best results but you could get lucky.

Here are a couple of links for Whispersync titles. The only catch is you must own or borrow the ebook first. Prices shown are for the ebooks. After selecting a title, the Whispersync price will appear.

Instead of shopping directly in Audible, try looking at Amazon. You'll have the ability to sort by price over there. You'll probably want to filter to some category first, though, as you'll find a lot of cheap titles this way.

No, but if you have something with the Audible App you can download it to that.
