No one EVER can. <g> I still remember our son's discovery of grapes (they had been on boycott for years and the boycott was lifted just when he was of an age to appreciate them. ) And then there were blueberries. No, let's NOT go there.

A bit of Diet Coke to wash down the popcorn.

Sun's up, uuh huh, looks okay
the world survives into another day
and i'm thinking about eternity
some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me.
I had another dream about lions at the door
they weren't half as frightening as they were before
but i'm thinking about eternity
some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me.
Walls windows trees, waves coming through
you be in me and i'll be in you
together in eternity
some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
Up among the firs where it smells so sweet
or down in the valley where the river used to be
i got my mind on eternity
some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
and i'm wondering where the lions are...
i'm wondering where the lions are...

It's a big orange ball and it's climbing fast! Good morning, everyone! January has past its turning point and so far this has been a great year! Yesterday I went out and bought a new Honda. Gonna surprise the heck outta my wife when I bring it home tonight. On the other hand, I may well be sleeping on the couch for the next week too... We'll see. I have a big mug of new 'English Breakfast' tea from our local tea merchant to get my day off right. I think today is going to be a really good day!

Good morning! The weather has shifted here, the first (very premature) sign of spring. Or, more accurately, the sign of being past the worst of winter. Our November/December are the really ugly months here, with lots of rain and frequent wind storms.

January can be that, or snow, or what we now have -- morning fog which may or may not ever burn off, and temperatures in the plus single digits (Celsius). Today it's foggy down on the harbour, but we're above it for the moment, and while there are clouds, I can see little spots of pale blue there and there.

If the pattern holds true to form, it will stay like this until somewhere around the end of February, at which point we should start having lots of days where there is at least some sun every single day, and most rain falls in the evening/overnight. Temperatures will start to creep up with overnight lows in the upper single digits and daytime highs into the low-mid teens. With at least one last serious storm to remind you that Mother always bats last.

Anniversary Breakfast Blend in my cup.

Sun and should be in the low 60sF today. Time to get out and do some work in the garage or yard. Hopefully, after I get back from some work and checking on mom's new desktop.

The best part about a week like you've had, poohbear_nc, is that next week is bound to be better!

A glass of Aberfeldy, 12 year. This is a Highland malt that is new to me. A touch of peat on the nose, a slightly oily feel in the mouth, with strong citrus fruits in the long finish. Not bad at all. Not an Isley, certainly, but quite respectable. Definitely drinks better than its price.

Never heard of that one. I'm due a new bottle of malt soon, maybe I'll have a look for it. Online review here
There's a whisky shop about 100 yards from the office. I feel a trip there coming on for Monday.

Diet Pepsi in my cup now (little bit too early to break out the whisky).

I hadn't heard of it before, either. Made by Dewars, and was, apparently, for many years part of that blend. Now at least some of it is being bottled as a single malt. Very clean and dry, and really better than I expected at this price point (about 60% of the price of Talisker 10yr. up here.)

Peet's English Breakfast this morning.

Checked prices online here and it looks about the same price as the Talisker. I'll pop into the shop on Monday and let you know what takes my fancy.

Just got back from the cinema (saw Twelve Years a Slave) and have a glass of Pinot Grigio.

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under

We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
Born to be wild..........

Oh yeah!! On the other hand, it's difficult to sing this song while riding a little 125cc motor scooter instead of my old 1100cc cruiser.... But I make do.
The person who realizes that enough is enough always has enough!

Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday. I didn't get around to washing and waxing the old bike, so I guess that will be my morning today. Sun never did poke through the clouds so no inspiration to take a long ride. But I AM inspired to drink this delightful extra smokey Lapsang Soushong tea from McNultey's Tea&Coffee in NYC. I usually save it for rainy day's but as it won't rain here for another 2-3 months, and it's cloudy now, I figured I could make an exception! Glad I did. Stuff tastes pretty good!

Surprisingly, she was completely OK with it. I expected a bit of a 'well, you could have at least discussed it first' (which is true, and something that I normally would do,) but no... All she said was "Wow! Let's go for a ride!" then started singin'
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
