Good morning, everyone! Tea is packed, dive gear is packed, camera is packed, and passport is packed! WE ARE READY! Just have to put Felicity into the Cat House, and we're away. I'm finishing up a mug of Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea to give me the brace-up I need to head off into the wilds of Thai travel. Things don't always go the way they do when traveling in more modern countries. The 4PM train might not arrive until 7am the next morning. It's not 'late.' It just hasn't 'arrived' yet... We spread sarongs on the station platform along with all the other Thais and just go to sleep and wait. The only ones who complain are the Western tourists, the same ones who push the elevator button several times trying to get it to come sooner... That has as much positive results as complaining to the station master that the train was 'supposed to be here three hours ago!'

I think there is internet access on the island we'll be visiting, and I'll have an iPad with me just in case. Can't live more than 24 hours without an internet fix.

I so don't get this. Why do you and a few other people who apparently have relatively well developed palates consume this vile brew? I think I've had it once or twice and both times the gag reflex immediately kicked in. There's iced tea, mineral water, sparking water, tap water with lemon, lime, a cucumber even! But why this horrid concoction that is actually not very good for you?
