It's a crisp cold day here in Paris.
The Eurostar journey over here was much delayed, though the four broken trains were after mine, which was only delayed by a couple of hours. But I'm not at all sure how I shall get home tomorrow.
Still, there's the apero to look forward to tonight.

I'm in the middle of PA, got here last night to avoid the storm today. This is the first real snowfall we had. I did not have a good time driving. I feel worse for my parents though, they are down in VA getting walloped.

So glad you got over to Paris OK Patricia! I saw about the broken down trains, and then saw signs all the way over to the father-in-laws about the chunnel being closed (which led to a few conspiracy theories being advanced when we got there as to whether the trains actually had really broken down or been sabotaged, in light of the strike being called off...)

Weather here has been clear, sunny and chilly - temperature (according to the car) peaked at +2c, and the lowest was -4c

They've now cancelled all the Eurostars on Sunday too. So I have to stay until Monday. But thy are offering compensation.

On the bright side, the meet-up was very nice and it was good to see everyone.

Yes we are. I got 18" of snow in the last 24 hours. This is a record for Northern Virginia for December (most years we don't have a white Christmas).

when i turned on the radio today, the first news i heard was about the eurostar trains being stuck, and in a panic i came running to check if patricia had logged on since yesterday. luckily she had sent me a message saying she'd arrived safely. ouf !

well patricia, i volunteer to distract you from your plight tomorrow. we can go and get drunk together and i'm sure we'll both forget all about the freezing weather and the cancelled trains.

oh, and according to my weather widget, it's currently -4°

and more snow is announced for the next 5 days.

We saw it coming and stocked up accordingly. Didn't eat as well as you lot at the Apéro in Paris but we did fine watching the snow pile up (high) in front

We are on the western edge of the snowstorm. We got a little snow mixed with rain and that's about it.

We may have a white Christmas though.
