Now I'm glad I waited . Wild Country is £0.99 at Kindle US right now, possibly as part of the new month's deals, although I haven't had a chance to check that yet. The links below still work.

Also Vision In Silver, which is the third in the original Others series is £1.49 right now.

Magic Bleeds is the fourth in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. It has dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK, possibly (but not for sure, since I haven't had time to look) as part of April's new monthly sale in the UK. But it also might not be, so if you want/need it, just grab it...

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DYCWVYY
Kindle UK/Smile: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DYCWVYY

Also, Wildfire, which is the third in IA's Hidden Legacy series (and the wrap-up of the first story arc, give or take a wedding novella) is also £0.99 right now. This one seems to go on sale pretty often, so I probably wouldn't have posted it on its own, but since I'm doing the one, I figured I'd do the other too .

Georgette Heyer's The Spanish Bride is on sale in the US, at different prices depending on the retailer. This is a little bit different style than some of her other books, but I liked it a lot. (Like all of her books...)

Kindle US, $2.51: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P5CM4G
Kobo US, $2.99 (discountable): https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-spanish-bride-2

Spoiler:
Quote:
A tale of love at first sight, based on the true story of Brigade-Major Harry Smith and the very young Spanish noblewoman he met and married during the Peninsular Wars, when the Duke of Wellington's forces fought Napoleon's army in Spain and Portugal.

After marrying Harry Smith when she was 14 years old, Juana Smith "followed the drum," marching at the back of the troops along with the other wives and the officers' servants. Juana became a camp favorite, charming all with her youthful enthusiasm. In spite of the danger, Juana thrived on military life and her passionate, if somewhat stormy, relationship with Harry.

Heyer's research encompassed every available diary from that time period, including Harry Smith's, and all of the Duke of Wellington's writings and dispatches. She brings alive military life during the Regency period, how the armies marched and fought, as well as how the nobility provided for its own comfort with servants, horses, dogs and furniture.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is the first of Mariana Zapata's books that I read and really liked, although this wasn't her first book. I've liked most of her books a lot, but this one is still my favorite. It's a little odd - it's very long and slow-paced, but I couldn't put it down, and I still re-read it from time to time.

(And I had to suspend a little bit of disbelief about the visa thing - you'll know if you read it - because I'm pretty sure the character who needs a visa would have no real trouble getting one, but I enjoyed the book enough to grant the suspension .)

Anyway, Wall is on sale right now at $1.99, as a US Kindle Countdown Deal, for about 1 3/4 more days. And it's KU also, so if you have that, you can try it for free if you prefer...

Two Georgette Heyer titles are $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US right now. A long time ago, Heyer titles used to go on sale annually around the time of her birthday, but I haven't seen that sale in a long time, so grab these if you want them - they are normally $9.99 or more each.

And now I went to check out Georgette Heyer titles in the UK, and discovered a couple of handfuls worth (13 to be precise) of books currently priced between £0.99 and £1.99. Of these, a few were published before 1925, and should be PD in the US, and therefore in most places, I think: The Black Moth, Instead of the Thorn, and Simon the Coldheart. Additionally, These Old Shades was published in 1926, and should go PD next year, even in the US, if you're patient. And a few more of these are earlier titles of Heyer's and may already be PD in countries that have shorter copyright laws, so YMMV...check before you buy if you are lucky enough to live in/visit one of those places!

Other than that, here's the list, all at £1.99, except April Lady, which is £0.99
  • April Lady
  • False Colours
  • Lady of Quality
  • Regency Buck
  • Devil's Cub
  • An Infamous Army
  • Beauvallet
  • Pistols for Two (short stories)
  • My Lord John

Magic Slays is the fifth (more or less, depending on which novellas/collections you do or don't count) in the Kate Daniels eries by Ilona Andrews. It has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US/Smile: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B004LRPJ72
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/magic-slays

Spoiler:
Quote:
In this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series, war-plagued Atlanta has never been so deadly...Good thing Kate Daniels is on the job.

Kate Daniels may have quit the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, but she’s still knee-deep in paranormal problems. Or she would be if she could get someone to hire her. Starting her own business has been more challenging than she thought it would be—now that the Order is disparaging her good name. Plus, many potential clients are afraid of getting on the bad side of the Beast Lord, who just happens to be Kate’s mate.

So when Atlanta’s premier Master of the Dead calls to ask for help with a vampire on the loose, Kate leaps at the chance of some paying work. But it turns out that this is not an isolated incident, and Kate needs to get to the bottom of it—fast, or the city and everyone dear to her may pay the ultimate price...

The one series was finally made available wide (at Kobo). The other I had gift card money.

I don't like that she's Amazon only to start (I mean I understand why though). But the series looks fun.

Audible had the Buroker Dragon Blood Omnibus on sale a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying it and it is a pretty good mix of action/mystery plot, romance, paranormal and just plain good characters/dialogue. From Audible description: The Dragon Blood Omnibus includes three full-length novels of action, magic, and romance: Balanced on the Blade's Edge, book one; Deathmaker, book two; Blood Charged, book three.

I plan to start reading her other books now.

If you're an audio fan, Lindsay Buroker has all of the full-length Death Before Dragons free to listen to on her YouTube channel. The two most recent releases aren't posted yet, but she plans to do so. Also the complete Agents of the Crown series (5 books) is there as well. I think she said there's like one skippable ad every hour (maybe half-hour), but free to listen to.

Those are the two series I just bought. I have a lot of her stuff from the various times it's been free over the years or on sale. Currently I'm reading her Emperor's Edge series which was her first series. But I've read some of her other books already. She writes quirky characters with lots of banter. Mostly light on the romance, but so far there usually is at least one in each series.

She also wrote romance as Ruby Lionsdrake (all of which used to be wide—I remember buying some from All Romance eBooks back in the day—but are now only in KU). I have only read a few so far, but have more in Mount TBR.

So many books, so little time.
